I've heard this many times. It simply isn't true - as anyone who is truly familiar with the NIV will know. If the word 'fornication' has been removed it's because it's hardly used these days. The NIV is a translation into modern English, after all! Language evolves continuously, unfortunately...

This really makes me seethe. Who reads single verses? In verse 2 - the preceding sentence! - the NIV says, "every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God." Also, surely denying that He has "come in the flesh" is a swipe at His humanity - not His deity!

I think I see the problem: we're not on the same page at all. You seem to regard the opening of the seals as literal events taking place in a particular location (heaven) at particular points in time. I see them as pictorial metaphors; it's a vision, not a documentary.
