No conjecture. We are talking about 'Being', which is under the so-called worldly category of metaphysics (other than physical). The criteria to a response is faith in what you know is true. Truth is sufficient.

God gave us the power to make choices. As soon as we choose to be dishonest, our consciousness has stopped being honest and sees dishonesty, and ceases to know itself as a Being. Our connect to God was broken by our dishonesty; and we know that God knows.
