Can a Believer Loose Their Salvation?

If would seem that you are confused about what it means to be a believer. All the folderal about make believers, professed believers, or genuine believers. The Bible never speaks about such things.

Can a Believer Loose Their Salvation?

Dead faith? What is a professed believer except a non-believer? The non-believer has no faith, by definition. To have faith in God is to believe in God -- PERIOD.

Can a Believer Loose Their Salvation?

    Non-believers went out from believers.

Can a Believer Loose Their Salvation?

The answer is yes. John doesn't answer the question. What John said is that they were never believers.

Can a Believer Loose Their Salvation?

You are the one bringing up the genuine versus professing believer. I do not ever draw such a distinction. I do not think you will find such in God's word. But perhaps you could give us what you think are the distinguishing features of each.

Can a Believer Loose Their Salvation?

Ah yes. Now it comes down to the case of "professing believers" versus "genuine believers". That distinction is an oxymoron. The lost were never there in the first place. You cannot continue in what where you never were in.

Can a Believer Loose Their Salvation?

Strictly speaking it is one who was once a believer, but is a believer no longer, who loses his salvation. The real question is, "can a believer become a non-believer?". And the answer is yes,

Can a Believer Loose Their Salvation?

All have fallen. It is only the saved who "stand fast though faith" (Rom 11:20). They are the ones who receive God's kindness.

Is the Logos meaningful, or meaningless? - Depends on your view of Logos.

Most Christians I know don't have a problem with it. It is well accepted as written.

Can a Believer Loose Their Salvation?

Yes, and that is what you have done.

Can a Believer Loose Their Salvation?

That is Paul's point. He is not speaking to unbelievers; rather he is speaking to believers. Rom 11:22 Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God's kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off...

Is the Logos meaningful, or meaningless? - Depends on your view of Logos.

What is your problem? It says "the Logos was God". That was before the preincarnate Jesus became flesh. And it is not that Christ was the Logos. Rather it is that the Logos was the preincarnate Christ who became the incarnate Christ.

Can a Believer Loose Their Salvation?

You covered it thoroughly wrong. It is your ears failing to hear God's word. I haven't lashed out at you. I have only pointed out your error in understanding God's word. By the way, which of those six characteristics listed in Hebrews 6:4-6 do you think describes the unbeliever?

Can a Believer Loose Their Salvation?

Here again, I think you missed a key point. Rom 11:21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you. Rom 11:22 Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God's kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness...

Can a Believer Loose Their Salvation?

But you failed so miserably in your rendition of Hebrews 6:4-6. That passages lists six things. 1. those who had once been enlightened. 2. those who have tasted the heavenly gift. 3. those who have shared in the Holy Spirit. 4. those who have tasted the goodness of the word of God 5.those...

Can a Believer Loose Their Salvation?

Are you one of those who believes that in becoming one in Christ that you give up your free will? Or perhaps you are one who rejects the idea of the free will for mankind altogether.

Can a Believer Loose Their Salvation?

Why would I be doomed? And why is it a pity that I make such an effort? We should all be striving in our effort toward sanctification. I believe now much more deeply and firmly than many years ago when I first became a believer. Staying in God's word has strengthened my faith. I would want...

Can a Believer Loose Their Salvation?

Yeah that is precisely what God says. Faith is not the gift in Ephesians 2:8. The gift is salvation by grace through faith. The faith is our faith. It "comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ" (Rom 10"17). It is if you read Mark 16:16 together with Romans 11:11-24.

Can a Believer Loose Their Salvation?

Who do you think Paul is writing to in Romans? When it says, "neither will he spare you", who is "you"? And by the way, most discussions on salvation are about the individual. The grafting in of Gentiles in Romans 11 is most definitely about the individual.

Can a Believer Loose Their Salvation?

It was stated of those specifically. There is no indication that is a universal truth. And there are so many, many statements for continued salvation IF...... SUCH AND XUCH. Those are conditional statements. To interpret otherwise is a serious mistake. "Branches were broken off so that I...
