Dead faith? What is a professed believer except a non-believer? The non-believer has no faith, by definition. To have faith in God is to believe in God -- PERIOD.

Yeah that is precisely what God says. Faith is not the gift in Ephesians 2:8. The gift is salvation by grace through faith. The faith is our faith. It "comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ" (Rom 10"17). It is if you read Mark 16:16 together with Romans 11:11-24.
