When Tempted, Giving over to [Willful] Sin equates to Eternal Death, not Eternal Life.

Sin is not merely actions. Jesus said if you think it, you are guilty of it. Do you never think any imperfect thought?

Are You Free From The Law?

As you are also, if breaking the Mosaic law is sin.

When Tempted, Giving over to [Willful] Sin equates to Eternal Death, not Eternal Life.

I'm asking what you call a sin? I don't just assume it's the same as what God calls sin

Regeneration before or after saving faith

None of these even come close to telling us God is emotionless. No, his emotions aren't like ours, no, they can not in any sense be sinful emotions, but they are emotions, nonetheless. The Hebrews verses tell us: . 17 Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to...

Regeneration before or after saving faith

It's from Matt Slick, who is a five point Calvinist, I'm told. If God doesn't have emotions, he sure spends a lot of time pretending he does, and that would make him dishonest, which he can never be.

Regeneration before or after saving faith

How many do you want me to post? God gets angry "Therefore the anger of the LORD was kindled against His people And He abhorred His inheritance," (Psalm 106:40). On this account the anger of the LORD has burned against His people, And He has stretched out His hand against them and struck them...

Regeneration before or after saving faith

Anthony, seriously, can you do one post without bashing? It's getting old.

Regeneration before or after saving faith

Ok, then. Care to enlighten us? On God's perfection: no one is arguing that God isn't perfect. God's character is unchanging. That doesn't mean he can't experience new things or have emotions. The incarnation was certainly a new experience.

Regeneration before or after saving faith

So, can we just tear out all the verses that say God has emotions? There goes a good portion of the book.

Regeneration before or after saving faith

It's not in the Bible, though.

Not sure what you mean by too bad?

Regeneration before or after saving faith

It's interesting how people judge between different sects of Christianity. I've worshiped with everything from calvinist to charismatic, Wesleyans, Methodists, Quakers and non denominationals. It's all different and it's all beautiful in its own way. I'm sure there's some tares in every...

Regeneration before or after saving faith

I never implied Calvinists aren't saved. I believe they will be held to account for thier errors, but none of these are salvation issues. And I have posted nothing in violation of a commandment. But if I had, it still would not be ground's for questioning a brothers salvation.

Regeneration before or after saving faith

Are you trying to imply I'm not saved? That's a common Calvinist tactic when they see they are not going to convince someone. It's really a sad statement on your way of seeing people if you have to stoop to that level. We read the same Bible. I just don't come to it with a deterministic world...

Regeneration before or after saving faith

I never said God doesn't have an eye on his sheep. Of course, God promises to look after the flock. The thing you seem incapable of understanding are the whosoevers really mean anyone can become one of the flock when God convicts them. It is not going to matter what scripture you quote, I can't...

Regeneration before or after saving faith

Um, yeah, right here it clearly says we all were once children of disobedience. Verse three makes it plain we were no different than anyone else. Are you somehow better than the ones who remain in their sins? Did God pick you because you are special? 8 For it is by grace you have been saved...

Regeneration before or after saving faith

On the contrary is Ezekiel 34 is an excellent read, full a beautiful promises for God's people. In it God, says he will judge between Rams and goats. And in Matthew 25, Jesus fleshes this out a little. “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these...

Regeneration before or after saving faith

This just isn't so. Calvinism didn't even rear it's head in the church at all until the forth century. Two prominent church historians, Philip Schaff and J.N.D Kelly, write respectively: ‘The Greek, and particularly the Alexandrian fathers, in opposition to the dualism and fatalism of the...
