Regeneration before or after saving faith

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent...

Regeneration before or after saving faith

Wow where to start? The tares are sowed by Satan, but in calvinism, God destined them to do the exact sin they do, so why would he punish them? Remember, in your scheme, God destined most to be reprobates. The parable makes perfect sense in a world with Free Will and no sense in your...

When Tempted, Giving over to [Willful] Sin equates to Eternal Death, not Eternal Life.

So, then what is a sin? Do you follow the commandments? How do you know when you have committed a sin?

James 2:10Whoever keeps the whole Law but stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. 11For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.…

Regeneration before or after saving faith

On the contrary, your theology puts all blame for every wicked deed directly on God. "God from all eternity did, by the most wise and holy counsel of His own will, freely, and unchangeably ordain whatsoever comes to pass.." And I did not reject Calvinism because of Flowers. I rejected it...

Regeneration before or after saving faith

Not, that would be you who believes some are chosen because God somehow sees them as better than others.

Regeneration before or after saving faith

So, God has to put on a show and pretend he wants to save people he irresistibly will then cause to resist him? That's not Jesus. Sounds more like Allah, or some greek god playing games with humans.

Regeneration before or after saving faith

Exactly, he's not willing that any person on the face on the earth perish but all to come to repentance. If you believe some are already guaranteed and destined for salvation, it makes no sense whatsoever. What need is there to be patient with those who can not do anything but what he has...

Regeneration before or after saving faith

Agree with what? That there are wicked and righteous? Of course, but the problem is, you read the whole passage through your "irresistibly chosen or irresistibly damned" lenses. As I said before, these are not irreversible categories. If they were, why does Paul have to keep encouraging us to...

Regeneration before or after saving faith

Oh, good grief. The man is not evil because he disagrees with your interpretation. He's not a heretic because he rejects Calvinism.

Regeneration before or after saving faith

If the elect are individually chosen, why is God convicting the non elect? That would serve no purpose in your system.

Regeneration before or after saving faith

Where is this quoted from? Yes, many are called and refuse. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Acts 7:51 "You men who are stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears are always resisting the Holy Spirit; you are doing just as your...

When Tempted, Giving over to [Willful] Sin equates to Eternal Death, not Eternal Life.

Still don't believe you. Sin is sin, it's all willful. It's just convenient to put it into neat little categories so you can pretend you aren't a sinner.
  14. R

Regeneration before or after saving faith

Not really. It's relevant to the discussion, because calvinists see grace as irresistible, therefore in thier system, why would God convict anyone who he didn't cause to accept him? Yet the Spirit works on many who refuse him.
  15. R

Regeneration before or after saving faith

That makes no sense. If he always existed, he can't become a created being. He put on flesh, but he had no beginning.

Regeneration before or after saving faith

    What prompted your repentance?

Regeneration before or after saving faith

I think that prevenient grace is much broader than many think. God shows himself in millions of ways. Just sitting by the ocean can be a spiritual experience. Now, if the person who experiences that wonder begins to seek out who is behind the beauty and wonder, the Spirit will continue to work...

Regeneration before or after saving faith

Repentance comes before salvation, but not before the conviction of the Spirit.

When Tempted, Giving over to [Willful] Sin equates to Eternal Death, not Eternal Life.

So, I assume you NEVER sin? Trouble is, I don't believe you.

When Tempted, Giving over to [Willful] Sin equates to Eternal Death, not Eternal Life.

Then we are all doomed. Because we all sin daily. Notice that it is sin when it's finished brings forth death. What does unchecked sin eventually lead to? Unbelief, which results in spiritual death. Romans chapter 6: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus...
