Hi JohnPaul, I too was born and raised Catholic. Of course we all thought it was a representation of Jesus cross, yet still never understood all of the ritualistic words that came with it...cannot even remember if they were Latin or English. So much hidden that we do not see or understand...

Hi Backlit, This is the closest possibility that really fits I find. Some think it was not physical but it was the unbelieving Jews following him around to try and make new believers live under the law too.

I have read recently that the "cross" of ashes for many on "Ash Wednesday" is not a cross at all, like most who get them believe but, represents a "T" for Tammuz...

Awesome...I don't mind derailing as long as it does not cause strife and dissentions. I kind of like how some can veer off into other subjects...unless of course, the author of the OP should be the one making that decision, I suppose.

There's no such thing as "half way" with God...all or nothing, no compromise. I don't recall Jesus saying anything good about Idols, God is a jealous God and will have no other Idols, gods...before Him. There is just as much P.C. within faiths as their are in politics...it's all pride and...
