Jesus is God in the Flesh!!

Didn't Matthew take Hosea 11:1 out of context in Matthew 2:15 when he referred to the son as Jesus in Matthew when the son referred to in Hosea was Israel? In NT theology, Jesus is indeed the Son of God; and Matthew was right to take it out of its immediate context and did so under inspiration...

Why do so many oppose imputed righteousness?

I also do not hold Matthew 5:6 to be a pillar; but rather it is a strike (of the sword of the Spirit) against the immoral concept that righteousness cannot be imparted but is imputed only. Strike one: Matthew 5:6 Strike two: Romans 5:19 Strike three: 1 John 3:7. We are not talking baseball...

1 CORINTHIANS 1:10 DIVISIONS IN THE CHURCH

Paul most certainly was not trying to obtain an exclusive following. In order to deter people from following him exclusively, in fact, he asks the question at one point, was Paul crucified for you? (1 Corinthians 1:13). A rhetorical question to which the answer is "of course not!" The obvious...

Jesus is God in the Flesh!!

There is clearly one Lord in holy scripture (Ephesians 4:5)--the Father (Matthew 11:25, Luke 10:21). And no one can say that Jesus is the Lord except by the Holy Ghost (1 Corinthians 12:3). And Jesus is, in fact, the one Lord of holy scripture (1 Corinthians 8:6). Now the strategy of the...

Jesus is God in the Flesh!!

I don't know all about the Greek and Hebrew renderings of everything; but I do trust that the kjv is good enough to show me everything that I need to know about the matter. If you have to go back to the original Greek and Hebrew to get the real message of God's full counsel (the gospel of Jesus...

Why do so many oppose imputed righteousness?

It is not a matter of how but of who. In Romans 7:18 (kjv), Paul had it wrong: his question had to do with how to perform what is right I do not find. In Romans 7:24 he got the question right, in asking, who shall deliver me from the body of this death? Our living righteously, therefore, is...

Why do so many oppose imputed righteousness?

@Stranger, And Romans 5:19 and 1 John 3:7 are to be taken together (while I still expect you to deal with 1 John 3:7 as the third of three verses that I have been giving to you to contemplate). In Romans 5:19, through the obedience of one many are made righteous. This is not only a declaration...

Why do so many oppose imputed righteousness?

Also, the Sermon on the Mount is to be obeyed. Jesus taught that those who do not obey the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew chapters 5-7) and the Sermon on the Plain (Luke 6:20-49) are like those who build houses on sand...and when the storms of life come, their houses will fall, and great will be...

Why do so many oppose imputed righteousness?

Even if it is, have you considered Romans 8:4 (kjv), Romans 8:7; Romans 5:5, Romans 13:8-10 (kjv), Galatians 5:14, 1 John 5:3, 2 John 1:6; Hebrews 8:8-10, Hebrews 10:16? I say to you truly that even if Matthew 5:6 is law (while I believe it is a promise); it is not to be discounted because of it.

Jesus is God in the Flesh!!

Hi @BARNEY BRIGHT, The concept that Jesus is God is a fact of holy scripture and a doctrine that is essential for salvation. The scribes and Pharisees understood Jesus' claim to be God. When Jesus broke normal grammatical form in order to make a claim in John 8:58 ("Verily, verily, I say unto...

I Quenched The Holy Spirit - Will He Come Back?

Hi @Endzone, What it took for me to give up a habitual sin was, first of all, for me to stop making excuses by saying that it was "just a one-time shot" every time I did it; and therefore not really what is spoken of in 1 John 3:5-9 (habitual sin). Secondly, I had to come to the realization...

Why do so many oppose imputed righteousness?

In Revelation 22:11 it is written, "he that is righteous, let him be righteous still" If this is speaking of imputed righteousness only, and not imparted/practical righteousness, then it is not real rightouesness; it is merely put to the man's account. So how will he be righteous still? he is...

    What Is Love?

I though it was, "He who has all the gold makes all the rules."

1 CORINTHIANS 1:10 DIVISIONS IN THE CHURCH

Sure he does....in 2 Timothy 3:16. Did not some of the twelve pen out some of what we call holy scripture today? Paul said that those writings are inspired...thus validating the words of the ones who penned them, and validating them as apostles with the authority of the Holy Spirit.

    ADDING WORKS:

1Co 15:34, Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

    Halloween Street Preaching

I'm certain that he will take it as persecution for righteousness' sake... Or, as people turning away from the preachers of the truth in order to heap for themselves teachers to tell them what their itching ears want to hear... God knows what the reality is concerning this.

Hangin' in there with you, @Stranger. I think you're going to get it eventually.

Why do so many oppose imputed righteousness?

This was true of Barnabas as an example. I would ask whether Barnabas' goodness was of his own self or whether it was of Jesus Christ. And I would ask also whether it was visible in the sense that it was a practical righteousness. Act 11:22, Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of...
