Yw :) "By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD"... When the voice came from above at Jesus baptism, the voice itself said "This is my Son in whom I am well pleased." There is no mention of an angel announcing that.

"By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD" The angel speaking here is speaking of what the Lord SAID for him to say. Who's "voice" could it possibly be other than The Father? What, is Jesus the son of an angel??!!

"what did Paul actually achieve for salvation " Herein seems to lie your problem. Nobody achieves salvation...it is NOT earned. Paul was chosen of God, and if you cannot accept the whole Word of God then, you are cherry picking. I am sorry Danube, but I am opting out of this convo. God bless.

The whole Word of God is complete. If God Almighty did not want Paul's epistles in there...they would not be there.

Hi Danube and, welcome to the forum. In my own private study of scripture, I tend to look at audience and what was said and done before the cross and compare to other scripture pertaining to after the cross. So, since the words Jesus spoke before His crucifixion were directed to those (Jews)...

...And, yes, I sense a good Spirit with Ezra. I'm liking his hunger for the Truth of God. That is ALL I ever wanted was the Truth...and I found Him in Christ but, know not nearly enough of His mysteries and His depth! So, I am looking forward to reading Ezra's posts. :)
