    mormons exposed.

Just a little tidbit concerning this...if you read Psalms 150 I don't think you will struggle with that doctrine anymore. I would say, also, that if the beliefs of the church of Christ can be refuted by a simple scripture, that those other pseudo-Christian religions can also be refuted by the...

Understanding Romans 6 is critically important

He does indeed reveal to me what He means in the holy scriptures when I read them in English; and even if He didn't, I believe that the scriptures as they are given unto us in English are sufficient as the whole counsel of the Lord, giving me everything I need that pertains to life and godliness...

    Philippians 2:12

I would add that Gentiles are also under the OT law if they are unredeemed or attempting to earn their salvation by works (Galatians 3:23). For the law is the standard of righteousness that the Lord has given; and by it is the knowledge of sin (Romans 3:20). Sin is also the transgression of...

    mormons exposed.

Mormons define words differently than do Christians. So when they say, for example, that "we believe that Jesus died on the Cross and rose from the dead" (if they do say that), they may be saying to each other something entirely different than what you would perceive them to be saying as a...

    The Problem With The Trinity

Not exactly. I will only say that I believe in the true Trinity. I have posted my views on the subject in threads that I have started: if you want to determine what I believe on the subject, go to those threads and read my posts. I will provide the links shortly. The Trinity is NO lie...

No Heaven if you don't mortify the deeds of the flesh

Abstaining from sins mentioned in the scripture of the OP is not the same thing as works of righteousness which we have done. Doing works is on a positive level, whereas abstaining from sins is on a negative level. By abstaining from sins we are not doing something; we are not doing any kind...

No Heaven if you don't mortify the deeds of the flesh

Our actions will definitely reflect it in the mortification of the deeds of the body.

    mormons exposed.

I do believe that there are those who reject the testimony of holy scripture because of the hardness of their hearts. Others believe falsely because they have not yet come across the holy scripture that refutes their thinking. The first class of people is in rebellion against the Lord. I...

    Philippians 2:12

Repentance is not a work (of man). It is a work of the Holy Spirit, accomplished by the grace of God alone.

    The Problem With The Trinity

I am a Trinitarian who teaches the Trinity with an emphasis on the Oneness of the Lord. I have been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; but I know my Bible too well than to reject the distinction between the members of the Trinity as a doctrine.

Understanding Romans 6 is critically important

I have always believed that those who say that tongues are of the devil are in grave spiritual danger.

No Heaven if you don't mortify the deeds of the flesh

I may have had a part in that process. I called into a radio program that was a prayer ministry (pastor Howard) and asked him a question. I was a new Christian because of the Plain Truth Magazine. Pastor Howard proceeded to tell me to steer clear of the Worldwide Church of God, because it was...

    Philippians 2:12

It should be clear that we obtain and keep the love of the Lord through faith, Galatians 3:14 and Romans 5:5. The practical outworking of that love is keeping Jesus' commandments. It should be clear that there is no law given (Old Testament or New) that can impart life. Galatians 3:21.

No Heaven if you don't mortify the deeds of the flesh

It would be funny if it weren't so sad...the end result of this understanding is that a man will attempt to be justified by the law and thus fall from grace...believing that they are Jewish and therefore under the Old Covenant law. See Galatians 5:4.

Understanding Romans 6 is critically important

Nope. Noah was saved by grace before he even built the ark. And technically, if he had done the ungodly thing and been disobedient, failing to build the ark, he would have still been justified by grace. Rom 4:5, But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his...
