    Please explain this.

Of course the devil does not like his name to be mentioned when he is up to something; he would rather be the invisible man and not be exposed as the one doing what is being done. He would love to accuse people and then have the blame taken off of him for having done the accusing...because if...

    Please explain this.

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 is either talking about a second benefit or a first benefit. If it is a first benefit, then why or how can the Lord say that He justifieth the ungodly? More like a spiritual gift... But you don't take the apostle John literally when he says the same thing... Seems...

Loving Jesus enough to obey Him ensures salvation

I find that the verses teach that if you are truly born again, you will be obedient to Christ. But they do not place obedience as being a condition for salvation. That would be salvation by works, refuted by Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 4:1-8, Titus 3:4-7, and Romans 11:5-6.

Loving Jesus enough to obey Him ensures salvation

I don't find any verses that truly say such a thing. And those who believe in OSAS, that doesn't mean that they are necessarily recipients of the blessing that they have believed in. They may believe in OSAS, and yet not be eternally secure.

about what? It should be clear that the devil is the accuser of the brethren. It certainly wasn't the Holy Spirit who was attempting to accuse me of being a false teacher by the events that have unfolded here.

No, I'm not taking back my apology. I'm just saying I'm glad that I responded the way I did. Because while you were blameless in the situation, apparently the devil was meaning something by it that my response was able to deal with.

Trinity vs. Tritheism: Understanding the Trinity.

So then, there are two Spirits dwelling within me? My Bible tells me that there is only one (Ephesians 4:4). Romans 8:9 might tell you something about who the Spirit of Christ is, that He is the Spirit of the Lord God. And that He is Jesus Christ. Rom 8:9, But ye are not in the flesh, but in...

    Please explain this.

In any case, I'm glad I responded the way I did; because my response answered something that apparently the devil intended to use as an accusation against me.

We can put two and two together to determine that it is either entire sanctification (1 Thess. 5:23-24 (kjv)) or the baptism of the Holy Ghost. So then, either you cannot sin or else you are not born of God. Which one is it?

The One True Almighty God IS Father, Son and Holy Spirit=The One True Almighty God!!

To slightly change the subject, know that the fact that Jesus is the Son of God means that He is the everlasting Father, Isaiah 9:6. The word and there is the Greek word kai which can be translated even. So, it might be translated: Jhn 17:3, And this is life eternal, that they might know...

Loving Jesus enough to obey Him ensures salvation

I would say, to the title of the thread, that it should be taken in reverse order. If you are truly saved to the point of being eternally secure, then you will love Jesus enough to obey Him.

    Please explain this.

Simply by virtue of the fact that most people will not accept it as a statement of fact; and therefore to present it as hyperbole and to then bring it back around to being a statement of fact, by the logic of other scriptures, seems to be the only option; as an attempt to get people to take the...

Trinity vs. Tritheism: Understanding the Trinity.

I would say, don't ignore them. Take in all the information that you can; and seek the Holy Ghost for what He has to say about it all. You can gains added insight by looking at what people have to say, scripturally, about any doctrine. Just be sure to draw your conclusions from the holy...

    Please explain this.

Also, I do not pretend to be sinless. I will be the first one to call myself the chief of sinners to you. This may be a paradox in the word of the Lord; that it is a trustworthy saying to call ourselves the chief of sinners (1 Timothy 1:15): while at the same time the Lord promises that He...

    Please explain this.

Sorry, I got your words mixed up. You may have indeed been talking about John Calvin; but it appeared that you were talking about me. You wrote: And in the very next post, you wrote: In your second post, I simply failed to see the quote of what you were responding to; and assumed that...

    Please explain this.

That would be the general fruit of the teacher...not a mess-up here or there. You who are contending for the idea that we all sin from time to time are certainly quick to judge when someone makes a one-time blunder. I said to you that I was referring to a general attitude among people of a...

When is a christian NOT a Christian?

John 20:31 and Matthew 7:21-23, to me, define the genuine Christian.

    Please explain this.

No, it is not illegal in California. From what I heard, that bill was not passed. It was the same bill that would have prohibited us from using the Bible to counsel homosexuals and would have amounted to a ban on the Bible in the long run according to the language used.
