    How does this apply?

    The Issue of Calvinism.

I would suggest quoting the scriptures that support your pov and then giving their sense as you see it. I think that we disagree on Romans 5:2, so there is no sense rehashing that... But if you have any scriptures that you think I am unaware of that support your view, by all means quote them...

I witnessed someone speaking in tongues today

You can reject tongues if you want to...I believe that it is a valid spiritual gift. If you think they are of the flesh then the consequences are for you, not for me...for you will probably never humble yourself to receive the gift. As for me, I already have the gift...and since it is...

Also the other thread was getting to be too long.

I witnessed someone speaking in tongues today

If someone has a gift of tongues from the Holy Ghost, and someone points the finger at that person and says that their tongues are of the devil, then they are attributing what is of the Holy Ghost to the devil...and that is the definition of blasphemy against the Ghost.

    The Issue of Calvinism.

Read the OP, because it contains certain quotes of scripture that support concepts that we find in Calvinistic theology.

I witnessed someone speaking in tongues today

I wasn't referring to tongues with those scriptures; I was referring to the fact that in the new birth we become new creatures in Christ. There is obviously no tongues in the OT...unless you want to count the prophecy concerning it in Isaiah 28:11-12...because tongues is a gift of the Holy...

    The Issue of Calvinism.

In this thread I basically wanted to take the main points on both sides and put them together so we can come to a better conclusion as to how they come together in harmony, if we can find that in these verses. A synopsis of what was said in the other threads so that we can continue forward with...

I witnessed someone speaking in tongues today

It is an attempt by the enemy to coerce us into not stirring up the gift of the Lord within us, as far as I'm concerned... An attempt to cast doubt on our tongues speaking as to whether it is genuine and to fear utilizing our gift, because of the possibility that it "might be a demon." This is...

The Bible says your heart is deceptive above all things. Matthew 7:1-4.

I witnessed someone speaking in tongues today

The progression: Jer 17:9, The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Eze 36:25, Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. Eze 36:26, A new heart also will I...

Easter ? What are we celebrating?

My issue in all of this is that it is a subtle attack on the credibility of the kjv. The kjv has the most accurate renderings according to what the Holy Spirit would want to minister. I am not saying never look at another translation; but I am saying that the kjv is superior in every way to...

I witnessed someone speaking in tongues today

You are attempting to say that our prayers in tongues can be likened to prayers to other gods... The point @Willie T. was making is that we do not stop praying to our God that is true just because people of other religions pray to their false gods... Therefore we do not stop praying in our...

Easter ? What are we celebrating?

I think that the primary documentation very likely comes from Jehovah's Witness sources...not very credible from my pov.

    Give documentation for this.
