    Calvinism is a Cult

It is only the fear of the Lord that operates as a safeguard against falling away as a believer...if you have the fear of the Lord, you cannot fall away...but if you do not have it, then I would say that you can indeed walk away from salvation. Scriptures: Jhn 10:27, My sheep hear my voice...

Easter ? What are we celebrating?

I do believe that the Lord promises that if we do His will we will abide for ever...and that if we abide in Him we will not sin. (1 John 2:17, 1 John 3:6). As for whether that takes work or effort, I think is something that we learn by experience once we come to the place of walking in...

    Calvinism is a Cult

Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. If you were a true Christian and then fell away, then it is impossible to bring you to repentance (Hebrews 6:1-8) so there is no point in continuing this discussion as far as I'm concerned.

Easter ? What are we celebrating?

I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion... We are kept by the power of God through faith, 1 Peter 1:5.

Easter ? What are we celebrating?

It's scripture; let the chips fall where they may doctrinally. Heb 4:9, There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. Heb 4:10, For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Heb 4:11, Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest...

Easter ? What are we celebrating?

Absolutely not. So? The only tenet of Calvinism that I believe in is the P in TULIP. And even with that, it is not OSAS but POTS that I adhere to.

Trinity vs. Tritheism: Understanding the Trinity.

@Dave L, you have obviously hardened your heart to the truth. You have three fingers pointing back at you. I have not been "trained" in the slightest. I simply got a different perspective on what the scriptures teach after having been baptized in Jesus' name; something that you obviously did...

    Calvinism is a Cult

Try the calendar...we currently live in the year 2019 Anno Domini...in the year of our Lord. Jesus' 33 years of life; and His death, burial, and resurrection had a profound impact on history. But even though you know this, I would venture to say that it is not enough to convince you...because...

Easter ? What are we celebrating?

You only think you grew in Christ. What really happened is that you accepted Universalism as a doctrine, as well as the concept completely contrary to that, that everyone in the Universe will be condemned; for these things are what the NIV teaches in different places. (At least, these are the...

Easter ? What are we celebrating?

Therefore, concerning my own celebration of Easter: I simply am thankful that it is a holiday in which people who normally don't go to church will go to church. So I do not eat a chocolate bunny on Easter, if it will make my brother to offend; and I also use the occasion to pray especially hard...

Easter ? What are we celebrating?

They have no bearing on our salvation, if our hearts are not given over to idolatry in the first place. If you had a problem with worshiping Ishtar before becoming a Christian, then don't celebrate Easter. But if, in your heart, the holiday is completely about the resurrection of Jesus Christ...

Easter ? What are we celebrating?

Fighting for the devil's cause, I see. You do realize that he hates resurrection Sunday because it defeated him?

    Calvinism is a Cult

@Vince It's like when Jesus fed the 5,000+ people with five loaves and two fishes, and the scribes and Pharisees not long afterward came to Jesus asking Him to show them a sign. Jesus said that no sign would be given to them except the sign of Jonah. (They did not believe the evidence that...

Easter ? What are we celebrating?

    The kjv...in 2 Timothy 3:16.

Easter ? What are we celebrating?

Actually, my pocket Bible is the 2012 version. It is still the kjv, however.

Easter ? What are we celebrating?

Yes, seriously...because there are certain changes made to watered-down translations that make the way in less narrow...and therefore a person is much more likely to enter in through the broad path if they adhere to a watered-down translation. If you stick to the kjv, you can be certain that...

Easter ? What are we celebrating?

You are right...personally I do not want to be cheated out of something that the Holy Spirit might want to say to me through something that is removed from watered-down translations...versions like the NIV take out phrases, sentences, even entire paragraphs, saying that they are not the inspired...

Easter ? What are we celebrating?

Let me just say that it is my experience that tells me this. I started with the kjv; but someone suggested that I use a different translation, which I did. My walk with Christ went downhill from there, until I returned to the kjv, at which time things began looking up again concerning my walk...

    Calvinism is a Cult

The long and short of it is that man can rightly blame God if Calvinism is the reality. Amen, in doing so you will find that Calvinism is a farce (although a case can be made for the "P" in TULIP).
