BAPTISM SAVES, FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS"

Ditto to you. But really, you are the Master, and you have no worldly wisdom; so teach! You have the floor. Give us your biblical opinion on the subject.

BAPTISM SAVES, FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS"

A case for soul sleep can be made from certain verses; but I think that 2 Corinthians 5:8 and 2 Peter 1:14-15 contradict the doctrine.

    Is your tattoo faith based?

I think that she would agree with me that tattoos are out of the question because I am a stickler for the law  . And she doesn't have any, so I don't think she would be getting any at her age.

Did you read the edition? And, what did you think of it?

    Never heard of it.

BAPTISM SAVES, FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS"

Not that I think "Bullingerism" is correct...but I think that a perfect strategy for the devil to adopt would be to identify sound doctrine and then condemn it as heresy if he possibly could, by labeling it with some kind of horrible-sounding label to try to deter people from believing in the...

    Not that I'm aware of.

BAPTISM SAVES, FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS"

In Mark 16:16, it is showing that believing and being baptized will absolutely grant salvation but that condemnation will only be rendered if you don't believe...nothing about baptism in the latter end of the verse. As for John 3:5, there are alternate interpretations to that other than it...

Sometimes a person can be legalistic about not being legalistic, if you get my drift. I would also suggest you read 1 Thessalonians 5:19-21 and realize also that biblically there is a priesthood for all believers so any prophetic word can be tested by any one of us if we simply take a Berean...

BAPTISM SAVES, FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS"

I already addressed most of this in post #109. And btw, I do not believe that tongues are necessary for salvation (1 Corinthians 12:28-30), though they are such a great benefit in my own Christian walk that I don't know what I would do personally without that gift. I believe that it has been...

BAPTISM SAVES, FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS"

I suppose we could start going back and forth over who is interpreting scripture correctly and who is not (see Galatians 5:15). I would just encourage you to keep reading and meditating on the word (Psalms 1); and I will do the same. I have observed that most clearly; and I believe that you...

Believers stay righteous through their obedience

Romans 13:8-10, Owe no man anything, except to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other...

BAPTISM SAVES, FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS"

They gladly received his word (faith), repented, were baptized, received remission of sins, and then received the gift of the Holy Ghost, in that order. Now in Acts chapter 10 it must be considered that that chapter is about a time of transition in the church in which God had to prove that...

I'm not even a returning member, either. I have simply frequented more than one message board at specific times in my ministry.

BAPTISM SAVES, FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS"

So then, is baptism invalid if you did not have the Holy Spirit before you were baptized? It seems to me that this is limiting baptism to those who are already saved; when it can be a starting point for many people to come to that point of being saved. I believe that Acts 2:38-39 speaks of a...

Believers stay righteous through their obedience

I have no arguments with your above post. It is basically besides the point of what I said that you were responding to, however. My point was that the law is useful as a tool of evangelism so there is a time and a place for preaching it. I don't know if you would be able to find it on the...

BAPTISM SAVES, FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS"

That is something that I believe you can figure out on your own, if you are willing to think about it only a little tiny bit. Then I would say to you that I think that 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 applies to your situation. Same as comment immediately above.

I believe however that every singular verse can stand on its own as a bastion of spiritual truth. Examining context, whether immediate or topical, only serves to help add insight to each individual scripture. Context never nullifies the truth of what a verse is saying in its own right.
