Of course He is. The Son is Human as well as Divine. So, in His humanity, He is a less than the Father (John 14:28). In His Deity, equal (John 5:18). The doctrine is called the hypostatic union: that Jesus is 100% Man and 100% God.

Authority is something like the power someone has in their directive words because they are someone of importance. But to say that the scriptures are authoritative means that they have authority because the Author of them is of more importance than anyone else in the Universe.

    The Problem With The Trinity

What name shall the child that is born, the son that is given, be called in Isaiah 9:6?

@OzSpen, Michael is only seventeen years of age and searching right now. Please go easy on him, as he has had some bad experiences with Christians. Love in Christ, justbyfaith.

Yes, I am aware that Jehovah's Witnesses accept the kjv as authoritative; which is why I suggested you get one so we could compare notes more easily. The first thing in the kjv that I would bring up to a JW is Psalms 50:1 in light of Isaiah 9:6; since the LORD is usually translated "Jehovah" in...

Genesis 3:1, Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

Is It Christian To celebrate Birthdays?

It isn't a salvational issue. We are redeemed through believing in what Christ has done for us on the Cross. And if we are redeemed through that, celebrating a birthday isn't going to take that redemption away. Romans 14 is a good chapter to study on the issue though.

Why do guys and gals care if i find God.

You have not called me up short on anything. And if you want to tell yourself that (you have not taken a disliking to me) to make yourself feel better, who am I to stop you?

Yes; and our neighbor is the perfect stranger who has been beset by robbers on the side of the road; that religious people walk by on the other side: but the Samaritan of the bunch stops and helps because he has been redeemed by Christ and therefore has the love of God in his heart. The point...

Why do guys and gals care if i find God.

re #20: It can come off that way when you are complaining about nice words, too. I don't expect everyone here to love me. In fact, if there weren't people here like @Willie T. who took a disliking to me, I might think there was something wrong with my walk, cf. Matthew 5:10-12, 2 Timothy...

    To hell with me

If eternal pleasures at God's right hand (Psalms 16:11); and deliverance from death, sorrow, crying, and pain (Revelation 21:4) isn't good enough reason for you to believe the gospel, then I don't know what is. What is offered is so great I don't know how anyone can turn it down. Actually...

For I acknowledge my transgressions; and my sin is ever before me. Psalms 51:3.

So they are sinning when they have the power to not forsake the assembly but do so?

For I acknowledge my transgressions; and my sin is ever before me. Psalms 51:3.

And if they do have the ability, and yet forsake the assembly, they are not sinning?

@APAK, That Jesus is the Son of God indicates to me that He is the mighty God, Jehovah (Psalms 50:1) even the everlasting Father (Matthew 28:19)...see Isaiah 9:6. Even if you do not apply a capital letter to the S in Son of God, in Isaiah 9:6 it declares that the son (small "s") that is given...

    Eternal Security

Abraham saw Jesus when He appeared to him in a Theophany/Christphany along with two angels in Genesis 18. Genesis 18:1-2, And the LORD (Jehovah) appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day, And he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three...

    The Problem With The Trinity

For the sake of others I respond: In claiming to be the Son of God He was claiming to be the mighty God, Jehovah (Psalms 50:1) and the everlasting Father (Matthew 28:19)...see Isaiah 9:6.

No, I am not running away from any truth. However I believe that those who go to other versions than the kjv do so primarily because of itching ears (see 2 Timothy 4:1-5). In John 8:58 in the kjv, the truth is clear that Jesus is breaking normal grammatical usage in order to claim that He is...

Why do guys and gals care if i find God.

And here is some scripture for you: Matthew 7:1-6, Luke 6:37, Romans 2:1-3, and James 4:11-12. Which is to say, anytime you point your finger at someone else, you have three fingers pointing back at you. You don't even know me, and yet you presume to judge; not on the basis of what scripture...

Proverbs 28:5 says, Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.

Of course, the second death is referred to as being everlasting punishment in Matthew 25:46. And that it is conscious torment is evident in Matthew 13:41-42 and Matthew 13:49-50. Also at the very least the devil, the beast, and the false prophet will be in conscious torment in the lake of fire...
