That's great to hear. My mind is so analytical it causes issues in my walk. I've written in the apologetics forum about it. Thank you for sharing.

I keep acknowledging that all my "works" won't stand a chance when it comes to my walk. I wish my faith was stronger, but i believe my mind for whatever reason prohibits it from gaining strength. It's draining.

Any fellow Christians struggled with mental health issues?. For me I remember them really taking off around 14 and snowballing to what I deal with in my mind 40s. Specifically health anxiety causes greatest, but I'm sure other combos as well.

That very well may be true, but why the old testament when there certainly was violence? Jesus and God are the same, why did the time period of the old testament happen? Was it all simply for His glory?

I wonder if indeed it is the selfless reasons that we are taught in church to prove His love, etc, or is it because He wants us to recognize the incredible feat of going through that horrendous situation...or if something else like you suggest. I often find my analytical mind a hinder.
