    Principal Tackles School Shooter

See attached video. The shooter came to kill. The principal took violent action, risking his life to save lives. (He was wounded in the leg, but no one else was shot.) Question: Can a Christian justify violent personal action to save others or not?

Tucson, Arizona or other places in Arizona

Thanks for the question. As with any sprawling metropolis, Tucson has good points and not-so-good points. In no particular order: * slightly cooler than Phoenix, but with many micro-climates, depending on how close you are to the mountains * reasonable cost of living compared with CA, CO, NJ...

    The “Stop Nick Shirley Act”

Thank you for the posts. It is times like this when I give thanks to God, who will see His purposes fulfilled, despite the machinations of devious people.

Was religion created to meet a human need?

Thank for a stimulating set of questions. Another perspective: God spoke to Moses, and Moses in turn instructed the Hebrew tribes with God’s expectations and promises. It would appear in general that tribes required religious leaders, who purpose was/is to speak for God to the people of the...

    Breakthrough in internet connections

Thank you, God, for inspiring researchers and working with them to improve our communications. May those taking advantage of the faster internet speeds use them wisely.

    Amelek and Gaza

More history: Esther 3:10 So the king took his signet ring from his finger and gave it to Haman son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the enemy of the Jews. Who were the Agagites? 1 Samuel 15: 32,33 Then Samuel said, “Bring me Agag king of the Amalekites.” Agag came to him in chains. And he...

    Amelek and Gaza

Thank you for engaging. Ironic that this is a Turkish video, considering that the government would like to exterminate the Kurds. The Old Testament passage concerns Ethic Cleansing, not Ethnic Cleansing (genocide). Similarly, the wars against Hamas and Hezbollah are aimed at eliminating...

    Suffice to Say

CENTURION: What's this, then? 'Romanes Eunt Domus'? 'People called Romanes they go the house'? BRIAN: It-- it says, 'Romans, go home'. CENTURION: No, it doesn't. What's Latin for 'Roman'? Come on! . . . . For the record: “God’s” is possessive, singular, as in “God’s mercy,” so it does not...

"Why did God give you cancer?"

Thank you everyone for engaging. Is anyone here worried about contracting smallpox? Polio? The reasons so many of once horrible diseases are no longer a threat, or as much of a threat, are that (a) God expected us to have compassion for those who suffered, and (b) He endowed us with brains to...

    Prayer-Artur

Greetings, and bless you for your confession and plea for help. May God have mercy on you, for the foolish choices that brought about your predicament. May God guide and mentor you, give you wisdom and discernment, to assuage your seemingly hopeless situation. He will not abandon you in your...

    Assisted dying

Compassion, by all means. But when socialized medicine bureaucrats encourage euthanasia out of concern for government costs, that seems far from compassion. In contrast, here is the Wesleyan Covenant Prayer: “I am no longer my own, but thine. Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou...

    Assisted dying

That is one perspective, and perhaps the reason so many choose to end their lives before God does. On the other hand, if someone you knew felt that way, how might you council that person? For example, those that feel they are an unnecessary burden should be assured they are no such thing. It...

    Assisted dying

Thank you for your perspective. Can Christians still love their neighbors, even as they are physically helpless, in pain, and dying? What does God have to say to us? Blessings.

    Assisted dying

Canada: From legalization until December 31, 2025 there were approximately 94,175 euthanasia deaths.

    What if Adam and Eve hadn’t disobeyed God . . . ?

Overheard on Family Life Radio, a brief dialog: Questioner: What if Adam and Eve had not disobeyed God (so that all born after would be fallen)? Would we still need Jesus? Responder: Jesus came not only to redeem, but to establish his Kingdom, so yes, we would still need Jesus. Comments?

    Also known as Infanticide.

Abortion up to birth bill passes in the UK

Thank you for the post. Given the influential Muslim population in the UK, it is a surprising development. Their pro-life views are essentially the same as those of Christians. Perhaps, as with other laws there, Muslims will decide what they will obey: to them, UK laws are irrelevant. Blessings.

    Hello!

Welcome to the community! We are glad you have come. Thanks for the background information. There are a plethora of views expressed here, so surely some of those will be convivial. Feel free to join any of the discussions in progress. Blessings.

    Exactly

Thanks for the reply. You are correct that God does not need protecting. If it sounds like Christians are protecting Him, that is an unfortunate anthropomorphism. Again, as I explained previously, when the Christian message is being slandered deliberately, Christians try their best to counter...

    Exactly

Thank you for your reply, which clarifies the discussion. Christians will be offended if God is slandered or mocked. Is that so different from defending another person from slander, lies, etc.? Is that so different from defending one’s beliefs from lies, etc.? If you are fighting for...
