No, Christians didn’t adopt the immortal soul from the Greeks

This is true....however, God is not beholden to the general direction of how it is explained by Paul. God also raised Moses and Elijah with Enoch never saw death. These are exceptions.....and why not? it doesn't oppose what Paul revealed for the majority.

I am battling deep depression because I rarely hear from my children

yes yes, two....I very rarely see them but do not have depression. That said, I have had depression in the my younger years. It was because of lostness and the lack of internal security although I didn't recognise it as such at the time for that reason.

I am battling deep depression because I rarely hear from my children How can you be sure the two are connected. Perhaps they are not?

    What makes a doctrine false?

The great commission is that of Good News. Do we dare reinterpret it by making it advice? Such is the subtlety of one presenting himself as an angel of light. Smoke and mirrors is how he attempts to fool the unsuspecting and those who have it in their minds of being teachers of babes.

    What makes a doctrine false?

No doubt you haven't considered the meaning (implications) of the joining word 'therefore'

    What makes a doctrine false?

Empathy! It is as obvious as a train smash....yet you don't see it?

    What makes a doctrine false?

perhaps you don't hurt and cry and bleed as others do? in your opinion! Romans 8:1 is self explanatory. It is the continuation of Romans 7. Romans 8:1 is not disconnected from Pauls assertions of Romans 7.

    What makes a doctrine false?

You appeal to the majority as if it were a measure of accuracy. Will it work for you is the question? Your confidence in your unashamed judgement is the pointer to self righteousness; it draws no admiration or resonance from this brown duck.

    What makes a doctrine false?

Criticism of the best intentions appears to be your go to. Responses of this nature determines for me the spirit operative.

    Trump has abandoned America First

The news in Oz of the Great US of A is (to paraphrase) Mr Trump loves wars even while he says he ends them; People living in tents on the sidewalks en mass in the cities isn't a priority for the rulers; Fires and storms manifest from one end of the country to the other; mass murders in schools...

    Trump has abandoned America First

Where is your focus? Is it not on sins? Will sins ever be overcome by the focus on them? Do we overcome by quoting scripture left right and centre, giving advice and making lots of words? My hope is in my Saviour. I have no hope in my flesh.

    What makes a doctrine false?

How God perceives people and how people perceive themselves are two different things. A varnish peeling, abandoned, cracked and broken stringed Stradivarius is still a Stradivarius with great value. A fallen, broken, rebellious human being is still of great value even when that person sees...

As we see/ comprehend and value how much we are loved we will walk in ways which are consistent with God's values ie, mercy, justice and righteousness.

ARE THE OT AND THE NT INSPIRED?

I think the Prophets, whoever they may be were given insights but they didn't always join the dots well. Isaiah writes confidently that God is the creator of both good and evil. We know from what Jesus and John tell us that in God is no darkness at all. King David writes exuberantly about...

ARE THE OT AND THE NT INSPIRED?

ARE THE OT AND THE NT INSPIRED? Are you inspired.....yes, when you write out of your conviction, are you inspired? Does this mean that everything you write about is 100% accurate with no flaws? Does it mean that what you write is without your particular filter of right/ wrong or anything in...
