    Charismatic Bible Studies - 2 Peter 1:5-11

Matthew 7:19-23 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them. 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say...

    Charismatic Bible Studies - 2 Peter 1:5-11

Walking in the Light is a continuous action. We do not go in and out of the Light, but we can commit sins that are liken to a dog's vomit. Think about why it would have been better for that person after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior...

    Charismatic Bible Studies - 2 Peter 1:5-11

Staying on the path to salvation is done by abiding in Him. You can leave Him if you want to. Abiding in Him also means growing in the fruit of the Spirit. Those without the Spirit and just spout false doctrines were never on the path to begin with.

Paul is also saying that provoking words are just as bad as the sin of fornication. Once saved always saved is one of John C's lies. Those who do not grow in the fruit of the Spirit are blind.

1 Cor. 5:11 But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person. I've given you warnings before about your provoking/reviling...

    Charismatic Bible Studies - 2 Peter 1:5-11

Many believe it was a physical ailment like poor eyesight. But "thorn in the flesh" is an idiom like "pain in the neck." There is a law of first usage and thorns have always meant evil people to buffet them. We also know that Paul always had conflict with Judaizers, which better fits...

    Charismatic Bible Studies - 2 Peter 1:5-11

If they apostatize they choose to not be saved. Teaching they still are is false. It is the same as 2 Peter 1:8 when they stalled and stayed that way. If they stop producing fruit, God kills them?

    Charismatic Bible Studies - 2 Peter 1:5-11

B, I was raised a Christian, believed in Jesus as my Savior, but I was wrong for 30 years. That was not enough to be born again of the Spirit. It was only after I truly repented that I was filled with His Spirit and my sin nature was completely cleansed from lawlessness. That is how you then can...

They were once believers and accepted Him as their savior.

Yes, I agree. A pastor should always keep His office door open when counseling a woman, and never all alone.

It is very clear to me by the words IN ME What do you think the Father does with those He "carries away."

    Charismatic Bible Studies - 2 Peter 1:5-11

The words "in Him"I enlarged and highlighted is the example. When Jesus takes that person who at one time was in Him but no longer are producing fruit, they are cast into the fire. Here is another well known passage. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the...

    Charismatic Bible Studies - 2 Peter 1:5-11

It's possible among preachers. It can happen when they are seduced by a woman, or dabble in pornography until it has such a hold on them they act on it. I know of one pastor that became a rapist.

We find that in the John 15 passage. “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken...

    Charismatic Bible Studies - 2 Peter 1:5-11

I agree that we don't move in and out as some teach. If we ever go out it is for good called apostasy.

    Charismatic Bible Studies - 2 Peter 1:5-11

Here are the two types of sins. Mortal 1 John 3, and Venial John 15:1-4. Both require abiding or staying in Christ and Him abiding in us. 1 John 3:21-24 21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. 22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His...

    Charismatic Bible Studies - 2 Peter 1:5-11

I've been chastened while abiding in Christ. Chastening doesn't have anything to do with abiding. Just the opposite.

    Charismatic Bible Studies - 2 Peter 1:5-11

Then how do we "stall" if not us stop staying in Christ? If we stay abiding in Christ there is no stalling. I'll edit your name out of it. But I did agree with you on what you said.

    Charismatic Bible Studies - 2 Peter 1:5-11

Why the third baptism? I believe it was the fourth one, the one in obedience to God speaking to me. I think you read it too fast and thought that NOW I've been baptized three times, and missed the word "before." I agree with what @marks says below... What I also believe: 1 John 1:7 which is...
