No it doesn't ... scripture only needs to prove that Scripture is Authoritative for salvation. Now let TRADITION and CHURCH TEACHING each prove that they are authoritative without relying on Scripture (since you do not find the authority of scripture adequate).

The Catholic church would disagree: EOC, OOC, RCC, etc. YOU taught us how to splinter 500 years before the Reformation when Rome splintered from all the other Apostles. However, Protestants believe scripture ... that Jesus and His Holy Spirit decide who are His sheep ... not ANY man or...

ONE MORE TIME ... Would you please share what Paul told you orally when YOU were in Thessolonica so we can all benefit from the infalible oral tradition from the lips of the Apostles!

That promise was technically made to the Apostles ... who WERE guided into all truth and thus able to write the infallible Holy Scripture. YOU are not one of the Apostles, so you are stealing someone else's promise and falsely claiming it for your own (like the Pope does with Peter).

I am in your debt. Now that we have established that you prefer a revisionist history to reality, there is clearly nothing to be gained by either you or I wasting any time reading posts based on alternative realities. I reference a medieval scandal in the church that resulted in three men...

As I already explained, it is less a “lie” than deceptive accounting. Here is one example. The Lutheran Church was a State Church in many countries. As a historic legacy to that history, the Lutheran Church incorporates in each country where it is present. All believe the same things and...

Do Catholic babies fast 24-48 hours before baptism? Why are you so selective in obeying Sacred Tradition?

Then please, explain what Tradition means. Let’s apply it to the specific claim that Mary is Queen of Heaven. How does Tradition make that true?

I agree. If you were in Thessolonica and the Apostle Paul personally told you something, then you should continue to believe it. So what did Paul tell you?

No, you are mistaken. All of our doctrines would need to be the same if PEOPLE were infallible (which they are not). The Holy Scriptures can be perfect and various imperfect people understand imperfectly. The RCC one sold indulgences, but no longer does so. Does the historic disagreement...

You missed the point that only their WRITTEN words survive for us to read today. We have no 8mm movies of Jesus and the Apostles from the First Century. Having played the game “Telephone”, we all know the danger of trusting a 2000 year old word of mouth report (a 100th hand account).

Romans 10:8-13 [NASB95] 8 But what does it say? "THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART"--that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, 9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus [as] Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10...

So many words to admit that you can’t name the tens of thousands of Protestant denominations that do not actually exist …

Please quote the ECF that refers to Mary as “Queen of Heaven”. The belief in Mary as Queen of Heaven obtained the papal sanction of Pope Pius XII in his encyclical Ad Caeli Reginam (English: 'Queenship of Mary in Heaven') of October 11, 1954. Your claim seems factually false; the RCC adds new...

I was a bit disappointed with the “scholarship” of the sources you chose. It is one thing to be proven wrong, but it is discouraging to hear one expert after another repeat “Yes this is not what the actual Greek that SAYS, but I am convinced that what they REALLY MEANT TO SAY WAS …” That is...

Does this mean you admit or deny that Luther was invited to present his case before the Church as a pretext to assassinate him? I think very little of Luther (one way or another) … I am a Particular Baptist, so my roots are not from the Protestant Reformation of the 1500’s. I merely think that...

Huss never revolted … he was just murdered for speaking the truth and getting in the way of oppressive taxation. The revolt came after he was martyred by Rome. But the Czechs, with Huss, also warmed up to Wycliffe's reforming ideas; though they had no intention of altering traditional...

[1 Corinthians 3:4-7 NASB95] 4 For when one says, "I am of Paul," and another, "I am of Apollos," are you not [mere] men? 5 What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord gave [opportunity] to each one. 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God was...

There aren’t. Name all tens of thousands. Name one thousand. The figure comes from a freakish way of counting. If we SAY that every RCC congregation (local assembly) is a distinct denomination, then how many “Catholic” denominations would there be? That is the sort of game being played with...
