Strength and Honor: Triumphing over Feminism

I have my doubts about the female apostle. An apostle travels and starts churches in various locations. Paul was against women having spiritual authority over men. 1 Timothy 2:12 King James Version 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence...

Strength and Honor: Triumphing over Feminism

I saw two women agreeing together that if their husbands did the dishes, it was for the household, not for them as wives. As in, they should not expect gratitude or praise as if they did something special for them. We need to understand that the marriage relationship thrives on service and...

Strength and Honor: Triumphing over Feminism

Today was a good example of being respectful without resorting to being a doormay, which is not helpful. My husband seemed determined to get all the unpacked clutter out of the living room. Today I said, " The things in the living room will be fine if they sit there over the next frw days. The...

@St. SteVen I saw you posted a link about women in ministry but do you mind sharing your position on that?

Strength and Honor: Triumphing over Feminism

I definitely did not shift my mindset to confident homemaker of purpose overnight. I remember feeling guilty for leaving work. I was really bothered by my husband's coworker when she said I wasn't pulling my weight. Later I found out she was unsuccessfully trying to sleep with my husband but...

Strength and Honor: Triumphing over Feminism

I don't get the same fulfillment out of paying bills and sacrificing financially for the house as my husband does. It made me feel taken advantage of despite it being an agreement. It's a bit hard to explain but my conclusion is that wives make resentful breadwinners most of the time. Having...

That is so awesome! I love hearing about your life and how you raised your children.

Nice list. In all likelihood, I will live to lose my husband. He is literally giving his life force to give me and our children easier lives. He does not want an easy life. He craves purpose. I'm glad we at least give him that in exchange.

    Home as Ministry

There is nothing wrong with living in a place you can afford. Here is the place we lived in just shy of two years. Many of my American peers will see this as poverty. Although brothers and sisters from other parts of the world will know many wish they had a place like this. Either way, this...

    Home as Ministry

Although homemakers may not have full time careers, we can do so many things that improve the finances! ---Living graciously within our husband's income ---embracing frugality, resourcefulness, patience, being a producer and not just a consumer ---Small business, homesteads, side jobs...

I see two bad sets of habits that wives get into as far as keeping up with looks. One is to make looks such a big deal, that vanity and expensive cosmetics and procedures take over---and this effort doesn't want to be wasted so wives also use this to attract attention from strangers. The other...

Strength and Honor: Triumphing over Feminism

The greatest earthly benefit I see from modeling my life after Genesis 2, Proverbs 31, Ephesians 5, and Titus 2 is the confidence my husband carries himself with now. Having to lead us made him very competent at life skills and God quickly called him to lead even his parents who needed...

Strength and Honor: Triumphing over Feminism

@Wrangler I should add, in a single income household, one person can focus on work without sacrificing the marriage. At one point, I made more money than my husband but it definitely hurt the marriage and we both hated that. I never was satisfied with the way he did chores and felt taken...

Strength and Honor: Triumphing over Feminism

What's interesting is that my father-in-law also recommends the book. Will have to pick it up. I grew up rather priveliged and everything was taken care of for me. I did not realize the skill and hardship that went into just surviving. However, when we switched to one income, we were sharing...
