Revelation 2:10 ....and you will have tribulation 10 days...

We become more Christ-like by the studying of Scripture. The Spirit teaches through the Word/Scripture. GJohn 17.17: Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. There are no hidden/secret meanings to Scripture that the Spirit reveals to you because you have attain some higher level with...

    Rev 21.4. Pass away

But, if her baby is still born, she will have much anguish. This passage in Rev 21.4 let's her know that one day that memory and its associated pain will cease to exist. She will have no memory of such a traumatic experience.

    Rev 21.4. Pass away

The gleaning as I see it is that all the bad things in this world will cease to exist. For a father who has had his daughter raped, for example, this rape will cease to exist and he will not have to live any longer with that Pain. Our worst sin will cease to exist. I find this comforting to know.

Revelation 2:10 ....and you will have tribulation 10 days...

You need to pay attention to what is written in my post. The number seven is a literal number that John uses to write to seven actual churches. The number 7 is not a symbolic number. It is a real number. Each message to these 7 churches is a message to all believers throughout the entire Church...

The NT manuscripts are full of mistakes

That is exactly right. It has about 138,162 words in the CT. In the Greek Manuscripts, there are about 3 variants per word!! About 80% are misspellings, there are tons of moveable nu. Most people don't like to hear these stats, but it should provide comfort. The Muslims have a Bible that has...

The NT manuscripts are full of mistakes

I have read other Ehrman's books but not the one you mention. There are two Bart Ehrmans. One Bart is when he writes a popular book like the one you mention, and the other Bart is when he writes to the scholarly community. Bart is right, there are 400,000 to 500,000 variants, he is not...

    When are God's Elect Justified?

No. Omniscient Beings do not have faith. See my first post on why. Jesus is not two beings, only one.

    When are God's Elect Justified?

You are making Jesus into two persons. He is not God AND Man, that's two people.

    When are God's Elect Justified?

No. He came in the likeness of man, but was different than us. But, Jesus is not two beings in one. He had a divine 'soul' and spirit, he did not have a human nature in the sense that he could carry on a conversation with his divine nature. He was one being. He limited himself to function as a...

    When are God's Elect Justified?

Can an omniscient Being have faith? I don't think so. Heb 11.1: Now faith is being sure of what we hope for, being convinced of what we do not see. Even though Christ gave up the use of some of his attributes, he still possessed them. For example, he saw Nathaniel sitting under the tree...

Revelation 2:10 ....and you will have tribulation 10 days...

If the 10 days are not a literal 10 days, then it would be the only symbolic number in the entire book of Rev. That is, all other numbers mentioned in Rev are literal numbers. But this is something that one must accept before trying to interpret a passage. I basically subscribe to the literal...

    Rev 21.4. Pass away

καὶ ἐξαλείψει πᾶν δάκρυον ἐκ τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτῶν, καὶ ὁ θάνατος οὐκ ἔσται ἔτι, οὔτε πένθος οὔτε κραυγὴ οὔτε πόνος οὐκ ἔσται ἔτι· [ὅτι] τὰ πρῶτα ἀπῆλθαν. "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed...

    When are God's Elect Justified?

We were chosen in him before the foundation of the world. (Eph 1.3). Theologically, this is known as Positional Truth. Individuals were not chosen before the foundation of the world, but the PLAN was chosen. So, God predetermined a PLAN that included justifying all those who are found IN HIM...

Revelation 2:10 ....and you will have tribulation 10 days...

An interesting aspect of the book of Revelation is that every number in the book can and should be treated as a literal number. If 10 doesn't mean 10 in this passage, it would be the only number that is not taken as literal. Hermeneutically speaking, this is the literal, grammatical, historical...

Revelation 2:10 ....and you will have tribulation 10 days...

I call this description of Rev 2:8-11 "any interpretation goes."

How do you know if your dream is really from God?

The Greek text tells us this. Just because you can't refute it doesn't make it untrue. This is why I say that believers who don't learn NT Greek are not serious students of the Word. If I am right, you will not be able to confirm it, and if I am wrong, you won't be able to demonstrate it. To me...

How do you know if your dream is really from God?

How do you know that it is a poor translation if you don't know Greek? The only thing you are able to do is to read things that support your view by some author.

How do you know if your dream is really from God?

I don't use translations as my primary source. The concordance by the way does not give you the grammar and syntax of a passage. Looking at a lexicon will give you the meaning of a word, but that is not the main part of exegesis. I figured someone would respond without reading my post. God...

How do you know if your dream is really from God?
