RFK JR outs the WEF, slams them. Musk has said the same kinds of things

I sincerely hope he's confirmed as head of HHS.

What Is The Difference Between Liberal, Conservative and Fundamentalist Christians?

You're a Musicator... j/k A fly for your ointment... one can be more than one of those things at a time. I suspect that, whatever your upbringing was, you have been influenced (like me) by extended contact with people from the Restoration Movement.

What Is The Difference Between Liberal, Conservative and Fundamentalist Christians?

Some of them. They follow whatever pastor or tradition was handed down to them. That isn't always the same thing. You know... the Bible doesn't actually say the earth is 6,000 years old. It contains a bunch of genealogies, and someone in the 17th century "did the math" to come up with that...

Does the Bible contradict itself? - Reader Poll (and discussion)

Not by that name, but... The Amorites worshiped El and Elohim, which you'll recognized as words for God in the Bible. The Babylonians had a pantheon of gods, but one of them (Ea) has a strong affinity with the God of the Bible as well.

Capitalization wasn't invented til the 3rd century AD... meaning none of the original books of the Bible had it.

Does the Bible contradict itself? - Reader Poll (and discussion)

I found a footnote in my Bible that says that bit isn't in all manuscripts. So apparently it's only in some Bibles.

Does the Bible contradict itself? - Reader Poll (and discussion)

It's very similar to Biblical Sabbath. Yes, there's a rest day, and the idea of "holiness" and prohibitions on doing certain things. More wikipedia... Counting from the new moon, the Babylonians celebrated the 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th as "holy-days", also called "evil days" (meaning...

What Is The Difference Between Liberal, Conservative and Fundamentalist Christians?

People like to claim they're "literal," but it seems disingenuous to me... nobody is really completely literal.

Archaeology... well, reading about it anyway. :p The Amorites (you remember those guys from the Bible) were the first to create a calendar that utilized 7-day weeks. Archaeological evidence shows that they were using it in the 3rd millennium BC... that's over a thousand years before Moses...

It depends somewhat on who and where you are. The answer is different if one is Jewish in the 1st century than it is for an American hillbilly in the 21st century. :) Us? That was written to the 1st church at Rome. Although "we" are also not under the law... unless you're an Orthodox Jew...

What Is The Difference Between Liberal, Conservative and Fundamentalist Christians?

I'm not sure "liberal Christianity" is a thing. Those who consider themselves "liberal" are generally not those who consider themselves "Christian." These are the Bart Ehrman's of the world - they know about Christianity, but are not actually believers in Christ. There is such thing as a...

Are you not under grace? I suspect Ohio may still charge you if you commit a crime...

Does the Bible contradict itself? - Reader Poll (and discussion)

That's one way of saying it. I see it as a claim to authority. Basically, "I have the same standing as David." It's another reference to Isaiah... Isaiah 56:1-2 Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed...

The one doesn't necessarily preclude the other. Are you exempt from the laws of... Ohio... because you are under grace?

Eating the shewbread is only unlawful if one is NOT a priest. But David was a priest. So was Jesus. Just not a LEVITICAL one. The OT says the same, but in the very next breath it says that they are held blameless for it.

Yes, the Law remains for the Jew if he sware to it. No, he isn't justified by the Law. But he is redeemed from the curse of the Law because Jesus redeemed him, taking the curse and putting it to death on the cross. It's literally 2 verses later... Galatians 3:11-13 But that no man is...

Does the Bible contradict itself? - Reader Poll (and discussion)

"Should" and "not" make a contrast between "letter" and "spirit," by my reckoning. Both are ways of using the law. "Letter" means we use the law as a standard of accountability, holding each other to the letter of what is written. "Spirit" means we use the law according to God's intention in...

Not with that exact phrase, but... Romans 7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. Also, the concept is definitely in there, if not using that phrase precisely.

No... I don't know how you got that out of what I said.
