Grace-Haters are incapable of honestly admitting what the (P) in Calvinism really means.

In what sense are we "all predestined to be saved"? That is like claiming that every living person is born destined to play in the NFL. What about all of the people that DON'T play in the NFL? If you really believe that everyone is destined to be saved ... "THAT'S UNIVERSALISM, PATRICK!"

If something is "destined" but does not come to pass, then it was not "destined". That just sort of goes with the definition of "destiny". Pre-Destined just means ... to destine, decree, determine, appoint, or settle beforehand [from prae- ("before") + destinare ("to determine")] Acts 4:27-28...

Do you have a specific verse that speaks of a person that ACTUALLY LOST their promised eternal life, or is the "Parable of the Unmerciful Servant" the nail you are hanging that hat on? (just looking for clarification.)

THAT is “Total Depravity” which is also called “Total Inability”. The lost sheep do not seek out the Shepherd, it is the Shepherd that finds the sheep and leads/carries them home. Men do not crave God; God OPENS hearts and DRAWS men to the Son. I agree. I would go further and argue that...

Predestination goes with Salvation in scripture. “Those whom He foreknew, he also predestined and those He predestined He also called.” God calls nobody to sin … God does not desire it and it is as unnecessary are “forcing” an alcoholic to drink. All God does is removes His hand of...

DANGER! Get back ... phew ... you almost took a step towards "total depravity" and the idea that men need to be saved by God because we are broken. Don't worry little Arminian, this Calvinist has your back. ;)

You should read what the doctrine actually teaches before you refute it. You are “missing the mark” on Total Depravity.

Ummm … JESUS started that ‘ugly rumor’ that those who believe have “eternal life”. We just thought that Jesus really meant we were saved forever (unlike our ‘work hard or God will drop you like a hot potato’ brothern).

I agree, so I applied the term to those that have a rabid aversion to anything that even suggests that one of the Doctrines of Grace from Reformation Theology might be supported by scripture … threatening their hyper-nomian semi-Pelegian synergystic salvation “golden calf”. Thus they...

Non sequitur. 1 Corinthians 5, in my opinion, gets to the heart of WHAT a backsliding Christian looks like, the consequences suffered because of a Christian failing/refusing to repent, WHY God would warn against it, and the ultimate PURPOSE and FATE of the punishment delivered to a backslidden...

I think “unmerited favor” comes from Romans 4.

Why did Paul expel the sinning brother from the body of believers? Was it because he had fallen from grace and was now eternally damned with no expectation of hope? (1 Corinthians 5)

You mean like … “I will never leave you or forsake you” or “those He justified, He also glorified”. I tried to believe what you believe … it was what EVERYONE that taught me about Christianity and the Bible believed … but I kept choking on what GOD ACTUALLY SAID when I read His words for...

Straight to the law … “Grace-Hater”. (“My commandments” are not the 10 commandments if you bother to read the context rather than settle for quoting PART of a verse … but Grace-Haters never do.)

Here is where we are closer than it might at first appear. “No matter what you say or do in the future …” What exactly WILL someone that has been “born from above” say or do in the future? What exactly WILL someone whom God has removed a “heart of stone” and replaced it with a “heart of...

On this we will have to disagree and take it up in another Topic. It is quite enough to discuss Perseverance (Preservation) of the Saints and Eternal Security without dragging Justification into the topic except to support some minor point. Feel free to start a topic on Justification if you...

I agree. It was a hard needle to thread for me. On the one hand, I don’t see James saying or doing ANYTHING wrong as a leader in the Bible, so I have no reason to throw any shade at the man. On the other hand, several times in scripture other “problem children” seem to have associated...

I would say “yes”. The 12 (minus 1 and plus Methias) or the 70 that Jesus sent out. The 3 women that went to the tomb on Sunday morning, and the 200 gathered in the upper room 50 days later (more or less). How many more heard John, repented, met Jesus and lived Christian lives in their homes...

It was a reference to the DOCTRINES OF GRACE. Google them for yourself and then ask me again if you still need me to point out people here that HATE the D.O.G. and I will gladly respond. For now, I choose to NOT follow your “bunny trail” into the briar patch just because you ‘dared me to’ by...
