The rules of the thread are to agree with the Nicaean Creed as a foundation for discussion, as long as there is agreement on that, all input is most welcome.

Yes but before one is indwelled by the Holy Spirit, His Spirit can draw you to Him. In that sense as a non-believer, before conversion one can hear His Word. We also know from Romans 1 that His Word gives knowledge of the Character of God through His 'fingerprint' on creation.

You touch on a very important point - in fact those who truly believe have the faith of Abraham who believed that God could create something out of nothing. If you have this faith, others looking on with think you foolish to continue on a course when there is nothing apparent to indicate it...

Yes for sure... He can only judge those who have rejected His Word if they have heard it.

I have been thinking about your post and I don't think it is the right time to explore together that issue - I think it is better left in Rita's court if she personally wants to pursue this avenue further in private.

If you read the thread from the beginning you will catch up on lesson 1 :)

No pressure, but if you wanted to work this through I could set up a PM with another female member of the group and help you work this through.

Confess,Renounce and Disown it... and tell it to leave in Jesus name... If you lack wholeheartedness, then ask for His hatred of the sin. You are the gardener - pull out the weeds, cast them off !!!

Yes that is what I am meaning, but we hear it in different ways. In our Covenant the Word of God should not be rare !

Yes, when I was about 8 before I was born again. However we are all different and He speaks in ways that suit our nature and circumstances.

Eli recognised the Calling Samuel had and demanded complete honesty and disclosure so he got the full picture of what God was saying. In our case in the New Covenant, we are all called to hear Him as His sheep hear His voice. It is not a gift for some. But the rules are the same - honesty, not...

Hey... Is our faith meant to be a museum of what used to happen? Did you notice Samual was accountable? Even here, readers will keep this dialogue on track - the driver may be holding the wheel but we all need to be watching out for the Truth. I notice that his words came during sleeping time.

In healthy fellowship everyone contributes as Paul said... The more voices of response the better.

How are we doing??? Do I really need to do a video as well, or are we travelling OK ??? Did you find the Scripture readings were on target ? Did you notice that when Samuel was called, most of the time God's Word came in visions and dreams?

Yes... But my style is to draw out the answers from the group - have you noticed that those enlivened by the Holy Sprit will be in agreement ? However the test of Scripture doesn't work too well if ones doctrine is man made. When my life was apprehended by God as a prodigal son, He said two...

All good, the matter I am addressing is that in my 8 years on forum many folks do not understand the difference between the Word of God and the Scripture and close down those who claim to experience the Word of God outside of Scripture. Yet Scripture makes this distinction quite clearly. In fact...

OK - I have settled on the first theme I would like to share with you. I want to answer the question - What is the Word of God ? (also known as the "Word of the Lord") The reason for doing this is that the answer fundamentally guides us in how we approach Scripture. Background reading will...

Another aspect of testimony that others have touched on is that we can be dumbed down when sharing for fear of ridicule. Also we hesitate to share because our encounters with Him will be interpreted as putting ourselves on a platform. I say do it anyway. People need to hear that He is Emmanuel -...
