"The 'Implied' meaning should be obvious!" (A Dangerous Statement)

"No," you wouldn't know by simply "flash reading". But, if that is to remain your habit in reading, there are going to be a lot of things you are never going to know. I gave the title, authors, and location just a little farther down in Post#6, after *Marks* showed an intrest in knowing.

They don't just want acceptance...they want to rule the world.

Please, feel free to come up with any conclusion you feel will fit your position. You should know by now that I don't often let myself get drawn into the silly arguments concocted here. LOL

They don't just want acceptance...they want to rule the world.

I worked for a psychologist who ran a court mandated Behavioral Modification Program. People who were either accused of, or convicted of any sort of sexual crime (anything from casual indecent activity, to public urination, to drunken exposure, to mutually consensual teenage copulation, to...

    Halloween Street Preaching

Well, I do mind those people preaching with bullhorns. They kind of disgust me.

No, I hardly ever saw anyone who was in therapy. Maybe two or three a year.

Should a President have a Morality Code of Conduct

More to the point, who could possibly think they have any right or justified standing to enforce such a code?

    Halloween Street Preaching

No, I believe you guys are simply under your leader's religious delusion. The one I see as a spiteful, hateful man is that leader, John Calvin.

Should a President have a Morality Code of Conduct

I doubt many of you have read much of what I have posted concerning REBT. But, it involves learning to distinguish between things we feel absolutely SHOULD or MUST be or happen.... as opposed to how we would simply RATHER, or PREFER ,that they were. I think this Morality Code might fall under...

They don't just want acceptance...they want to rule the world.

Just slightly more than 4,800 people. I dunno, I suspect there might have been a fair representation there somewhere..…. since there was probably not a single sexual deviation that was not in evidence.

"The 'Implied' meaning should be obvious!" (A Dangerous Statement)

With that last sentence, it appears you may have gotten the point of that tiny, tiny, tiny section of a MUCH larger book that went on to address the many other multiple types of delivery contained within the Bible..... and how each different style of writing used should be read and understood.

"The 'Implied' meaning should be obvious!" (A Dangerous Statement)

Good grief! This is third grade stuff. People shouldn't have to be taught these elementary things all over again.

"The 'Implied' meaning should be obvious!" (A Dangerous Statement)

Narratives are not explanations or examples. A Narrative is the plain telling of a story. "Jesus walked up a hill and sat down on a rock." is a narrative. Speculating as to "Why" He did that is not. Neither is claiming that because He did that, all of us also have to do so.

Should a President have a Morality Code of Conduct

Where would you rank Sexual Conduct on your list? And WHY would you include that, if you do? (I mean what basis or "set of rules" would you say should govern Sexual Behavior of a Presidential candidate?) And, would failing in that area be considered OK.... as long as the candidate uses...

"The 'Implied' meaning should be obvious!" (A Dangerous Statement)

The OP has nothing to do with "Allegories." It is totally and strictly addressing narratives. In fact, that word is used 15 times in the tiny excerpt I posted.

    Halloween Street Preaching

I truly do think doggedly adhering to the doctrine of Total Depravity is probably a sign of a deeper psychosis.

    Halloween Street Preaching

Simply holding that Jesus is Lord, when an Atheist declares differently is being biased. It may come as a shock, but "bias" is not a dirty word. Jesus was extremely biased. We should all hope to be biased when it comes to God.

Should a President have a Morality Code of Conduct

Trouble is, there is not a single candidate running who could uphold a moral code. And, anyone who could, wouldn't want the job.... or take it.

Are Doctrines affected by Modern Versions

For clarification: My problems aren't with people preferring the KJV. (I was also raised on it) But, I can't accept the worship of the book as the one and only message God was (is) capable of delivering to the creatures He created.

They don't just want acceptance...they want to rule the world.

It may be immodest and even prideful to say this, but I will hold my decades of face-to-face experience in this field up against anyone's here. And I will tell you, right out, that early and initial sexual experiences very greatly and deeply influence the future development of almost any...
