Should Christians not participate in Halloween?

An interesting thing I have learned about "History" is that it invariably seems that the other guy's version of how things went down never matches ours. Leaving BOTH versions in question. My Father-in-Law used to say: "When it comes to the telling of a story, there is your side, his side...

Should Christians not participate in Halloween?

Our church probably takes in about 2M a year. (we are about 300 people, including kids) The preacher and his wife rake in a whopping 40k between the two of them. That Fall-O-Ween we just had... about 7k for 2 hours. The recent revival, about 20k. And that is how it goes week after week. We...

Should Christians not participate in Halloween?

Everyone would have to admit and agree that Luther's 95 Thesis were mainly objecting to the abuses centered around "Indulgences." (Largely, financial) BTW, Luther was a Catholic Monk, and had no original intention of leaving "The Church." He just wanted discussion about cleaning things up.

Should Christians not participate in Halloween?

Well, let's be fair and also point out that many, many Protestant preachers live VERY well from exploiting "Religion" and duping gullible followers.

Should Christians not participate in Halloween?

"Triumph1300, "posted: Medieval Religion. In Europe during the Medieval times the only recognised religion was Christianity, in the form of the Catholic religion. This is a factual statement, at least as far as the predominant religion goes There were Druids, and such around. The lives of...

Should Christians not participate in Halloween?

We had more than 500 children last night. People were scrambling to local stores to buy more candy. We sure didn't expect such a turnout.... we thought, at the max, 300. We had four giant inflatable "bounce houses", and 33 "Trunk or Treat" cars... and a giant screen loop-showing the Charlie...

    Prayers in "Jesus Precious Name"

It is not a matter of uttering the sound of a specific "Name"... it is belief in a particular and singular "being." (Person, Spirit, Godhead, Power, etc.)

    Prayers in "Jesus Precious Name"

I am simply trying to, facetiously, show how hooked-up we can get on something pretty inconsequential. For instance, as I mentioned elsewhere, some people actually think that to make a prayer "official", we are required to end it with the specific and "qualifying" phrase, "In Jesus' name, Amen."

Is water baptism necessary for salvation?

Long after. I was baptized in the CoC, and they didn't even believe the Holy Spirit was anything but the ink on the pages of a Bible. Half of them would have fainted if they heard me speaking in tongues, and the other half would have started stoning me on the spot.

Many Are Called, but Few Are Chosen

Maybe it has something to do with telephone solicitation for Dancing With The Stars?

Is water baptism necessary for salvation?

I'm not as Holy as some of you. I got baptized because it was what everyone in our church did also.

    Prayers in "Jesus Precious Name"

I think He was referred to as something sounding close to "Yashuah" in the Aramaic His family spoke. LOL

I Just Want To Praise The Lord Right Now For My Kitchen Floor and The Electron Bonds...

Well...……….. I dunno about the "falling" part, because gravity would not exist either.... without our Lord.

When is it right for Christians to take a stand against evil?

But, you would be all kinds of concerned if you were a person who lived their life to glory in finding yet another of those trashy things. ("Yes", some people do seem to live for little else.)

When is it right for Christians to take a stand against evil?

I began my more serious instruction in fighting at the age of nine. I was taught by an Army Ranger my mother was dating. (The same man who began teaching me to shoot and to fly that year.) Interestingly enough, he began by teaching me defensive moves first. The aggressive offensive...

    Urgent warning about Donald Trump

When someone from another country can feed his whole family well for thirty cents a day, and can buy a camel for $1.20, and has been doing well for years and years, where do we get off thinking we would be improving their life by imposing our rampant inflation upon them?

When is it right for Christians to take a stand against evil?

Unfortunately, some people seem to focus only on the negative they can ferret out of everything.

    Urgent warning about Donald Trump

That post is a vivid example of being uninformed. $30 dollars was comparable to nearly a year's wages for the farmers of that country. (I was earning quite a bit less than $100 a month in our Army myself.)

    I don't wonder why.

You do realize He was never called J-E-S-U-S, don't you?
