Are all born-again Christians part of God’s elect?

Don't sugar coat it tell us how you really feel.

    Homosexuality

Case in point you have proven yourself to sin again. I will pray for you. I have never said I am unrepentant and you have again shown yourself the accuser you falsely claim me to be. Sin drips from the very words you post. You call foreigner a "lowlife" and that is not a sin? It is most...

    Homosexuality

I do not accuse you of sin, your own words do. Here you admit you do not know who I am, yet you accuse me of being of the same mind of the Pharisees of Jesus' day. Arrogance? I have never heard of anyone walking sinless except Jesus the Christ, and maybe Mary yet that is an entirely different...

    Homosexuality

So are you reporting now that you have lived without sin since you have been born again? What about sins of omission? Has every thought you ever had since you have been born again been to glorify God? What about the sin of pride? I think if you make blanket statements like this you do not...

Are all born-again Christians part of God’s elect?

This is the way the NASB translates: 1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints who are at Ephesus and who are faithful in Christ Jesus: The "who are" is not a part of the original text but is added either because of nuance or for reading clarity. I think though...

Are all born-again Christians part of God’s elect?

I do not believe God is completely done with the nation of Israel. But it is true that those of the faith are spiritual Israel. This is a discussion of covenant theology and dispinsationalism. I tend to fall more new covenant or progressive dispinsationalism.

Are all born-again Christians part of God’s elect?

Matthew 3:9 9 and do not suppose that you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham for our father’; for I say to you that from these stones God is able to raise up children to Abraham. 1Chronicles 16:31-33 31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; And let them say among the...

Holiness or Hell. God's command to His people!

I like to think OSAS stands for Only Saved Are Saved :P

Are all born-again Christians part of God’s elect?

With this statement you are making God subject to man's choices, thereby man is sovereign over God. Scripture simply does not support this statement. Success of God's plan is dependent on God, that is why He sent His Son, because man could not choose to please God. Romans 9:16 So then it...

Are all born-again Christians part of God’s elect?

These are your statements I have difficulties with. "God creates born-again believers by placing the Holy Spirit in their hearts" The only thing here is terminology, defining terms may be extremely helpful. I tend to define this group as the elect. "God’s plan has always been to accomplish...

    Romans 8:28-30

In light of recent posts I decided to post a paper I wrote on this subject. In this exegetical paper the pericope of Romans 8:28-30 is going to be explored. This particular passage is extremely telling of the process God uses in bringing sinners to salvation. One thing that is interesting in...

    God over free-will take 2

Through my research diving into this subject I have been directed to different authors on this subject. I am currently looking at "Chosen by God" by R.C. Sproul and was directed to a website on monergism. I have also stumbled across another website that adds clarity to this ambiguous subject...

Holiness or Hell. God's command to His people!

12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. (Philippians 2:12-13 ESV) "In this...

Pay Your Tithe OR Spend Eternity In Hell?

One man makes $1,000,000 a year and gives $100,000 a year in the form of a check to his local church and the pastor knows him by name and he is invited to every function the church is holding by the elders and the pastor. He holds a position a deacon, and is in line to be an elder. He sits at...

Holiness or Hell. God's command to His people!

John 10:27-29 27 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; Here our Good Shepherd speaks of His sheep. Notice what He says of His sheep; He knows exactly who they are, and they follow Him. Salvation is only for His sheep, none other. You can not become one of His and turn...

Holiness or Hell. God's command to His people!

Here I agree, "I am not claiming to be an antinomian," and now I double affirm your statements. I will only add you are not genuine in your belief or have you ever been saved if you believe you have a free passage to sin. Every person's heart is corrupt and evil, that is why we need Jesus to do...

Holiness or Hell. God's command to His people!

This passage does not say work for your salvation but to put into practice in their daily living what God has already worked in them through His Spirit. A call to living holy as it were. I have not disagreed with this at all nor do I present anything different but much rather redirect our focus...

    God over free-will take 2

Due to a possibility of confusion and an inability to easily track the OP I have decided to copy and paste previous posts from my last thread so this may be lengthy. I apologize if there is any overlap of ideas presented and for the inconsistency in my previous thread. You may notice some...

Holiness or Hell. God's command to His people!

2 Timothy 1:9 9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity, Ephesians 2:10 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God...
