    Sola Fide

Come one, come all! Wikipedia (abbreviated): Sola fide (Latin: by faith alone), also known as justification by faith alone, is a Christian theological doctrine.... I am a strong supporter of justification by faith alone. I have many verses. Here's two: Romans 4:5-6 KJV But to him that...

    Was James confused?

Ok, lets look at that way for a moment (although I still contend it isn't what he meant). I have one question to ask you before I make my case. Are you saying and/or James is saying such works are evidence of our faith? I have to know if that's your point. Thanks in advance for the clarification

    Was James confused?

101G This is reference to you saying James was saying we should keep the law because of faith. And its not what he meant either. I agree that we should, but we aren't justified by doing so. James isn't saying we should keep it, he is saying that we are justified by works with faith. As for...

    Was James confused?

He didn't say that. I actually agree with you. You should help brethren and do "works". They have nothing to do with salvation. Not even as evidence of faith. Here is one of the things James said: James 2:24 KJV Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

    Possessions

The Lord sees it fit to provide me with the things I have. Also, I am his, therefore everything I have is his. I am happy with what I have, and will fight to keep it. But I won't fight with God. Since he gave it, I wouldn't be upset if he saw it fit to relieve me of it.

    Catholics

Sorry Stranger. Gotta call them as I see them. It doesn't say they grew silent, became silent or even were silent. It sayd they kept silence. I don't see this as a situation where they were trying to shout Peter down. They at least heard him enough to decide to pay attention and hear Paul...

Nobody Can "Let" God Do Anything.

You may need a lesson on how to address and quote people on this board.... I am not sure if you are adressing me. But if you are. Please tell me where I said anyone could "let" God do anything. Aside from my citing that Moses actually talked God down. I simply stated that Paul and David...

Nobody Can "Let" God Do Anything.

LOL! Ok. I repent! I have to come back for one more round! So why would you say that? Did I offend you? Granted I questioned you and posted a rebuttal to what you said. But did I actually attact or offend you? If you disagree with me, I am not offended so long as you stay on task and at...

Nobody Can "Let" God Do Anything.

Yes. I have. I have actually read them all. And I don't charge him foolishly. He made mistakes and he acknowledged them. I chalkenged what you said and gave scripture to back it up. I did not attack you, rather I attacked what you said. You aren't unique in that. When I read something I...

Nobody Can "Let" God Do Anything.

Very interesting post. Short-sided in your judgment of David and Paul and what they said, but I like your overall point. I say short-sided because you are taking two verses to make your claim as evidence against these men without considering all their writings. Absolutely they as humans had...

    Importance of Doctrine

I don't always choose the best words to say what I mean, but sometimes I am extremely careful in what I say. This is one of those times. I say you can't stay in false doctrine when PROVEN wrong. Not told wrong, yet when shown it is wrong. In Armadillo's post he brought up Mary not...

    Importance of Doctrine

Hi Armadillo Not sure I can agree with your opening statement. Your example of Mary is good, and there are many others we can look at in the same way. Saul (Paul) had doctrinal error. Peter had lots of it too. But there is a flaw which must be addressed: they were corrected. They didn't...

How so? I don't recall from history that overthrowing Rome was a goal. It seems the goal was to break away frome Rome. They succeeded. I'd like to compare and contrast your statement to this one: "Protestantism isn't as antithetical to the Catholic Faith as you suppose. It has positive...

    Importance of Doctrine

I agree. Its been a while since I've done this, but I pay homage to all fokks that post here. Right or wrong, they at least have made the step to seek. I love preachers and churches, but unfortunately you are right. Lot of folks only pick up Jesus from 8 to 11 on Sunday.

    Gratitude

My point is gratitude is more than being thankful for what you see as a victory. Its being thankful he is a shepherd and looking out for you, even if you don't like it.

    Gratitude

My Pastor taught me a great and comical lesson about this verse: Romans 8:28 KJV And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Do you know hard that verse is? Let me demonsrate: 1. You get a flat tire in the...
