    The bible is so boring

I find Acts exciting, and also Genesis. I love the Psalms, and Proverbs. I have come to understand prophesy from Daniel and Revelation. I have read the new testament much more than the old testament, yet gain from both. All things written are for our learning. Romans 15:4 There is book out...

    Job...

Sorry not to derail the post, but I read something here rather alarming. Remember it is David that is given the eternal promise and Jesus who is the fulfillment of that promise. So yes it is very important to know and even believe David being a real figure or not. To discount the bible a...

The Occult Connections of Westcott and Hort

Doctrines can easily be swayed by the wording or miss-wording in a text. Absent texts can undermine the author's intent of conveying a concept. The end result of a specific translation can be foundational on one's belief. Take the New World Translation of the Bible for an example.

    Who am I in Christ?

The Word is so powerful and supporting. Thank God and you for this post.

    Hyper-dialectic

I love to agree when it is agreeable. If it is that I don't agree, I shouldn't agree for the sake of agreement or appeasement. It is for us to speak truth and light in a world of darkness. Think of it this way, if you heard someone teaching the gospel to another and it was only 70% correct...

I now agree with the Augustinian View of Predestination/Election

There is elect on through to great tribulation period as we are told Rev 11:3. Now as for a God that knows all the hairs on your head, do you not believe He knows who He chose? For just as Jesus picked the twelve, so does He pick us in Him. Ephesians 1:4 Romans 8:29 2 Timothy 1:9 Understand...

Lets Be More Kind To One Another In This Forum

Matthew 15:26 This verse insinuates but the culture of the day explains tons here. My point being, Jesus was pointed in His speech, yet He spoke out of love. Remember also, when Jesus walked the planet, the presence of the evil one was thick. He cast out more than one unclean spirt. So He...

    We Are Spirit....

I never said the image of God goes to the dust with the body. That image is the very connection to God agreed. My point being as a tree has roots, branches, and leaves. So a human being has a spirit, soul, and body.

    We Are Spirit....

The spirt I see as the image of God imputed to us. Yet again for us to say we are spirits, is to say a tree is only it's leaves.

Do You Pray And Sing In Tongues ?

I went to a church once, it was large. It was a converted Catholic building to non denominational. It was rather charismatic. Near the end of the service, the pastor said if you want the gift of tongues to come to the altar. They moved us to another room, and lined us up in a line, there was...

    Lust

Well, I feel a bit differently. If I never looked a second time at a person I find attractive, I would have to keep my eyes closed quite a bit. How many movies I could not have watched, or television programs, or different things of that nature. Now if I allow my mind to wander in thought...

    We Are Spirit....

Yes, but to say we are spirits, is to not speak the whole truth. As you say, and how scripture affirms, we are spirt, soul, and body. To claim we are spirits is to say we are disembodied, which we are not.

Luke 6:37 ...Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned...

First of all neither one of you did a sin that was unforgivable. Again you did nothing unforgivable and neither did Dale. You have remorse, and have gone much further than most would have, with reconciliation. I commend you for that. Now I want you to listen to a verse Luke 6:37...

    We Are Spirit....

To be quite sure also, our Lord Jesus Christ came in the flesh and is coming in the flesh. 2John 1:7 We are not greater than our Master, it is God who is Spirit. We are people, human beings, Christian saints at best, but spirits I think not. A spirit is something like love, in love's purest...

    Is islam demonic?

Islam teaches about a false God which pulls some away from worshiping the only true God. That is an act Satan does.

I now agree with the Augustinian View of Predestination/Election

I confess the faith I have is a gift given to me by God, not that I have manifested this faith on my own. Just as he has created me with all the physical attributes I possess, so all the character traits I have are given by God.

    JAMES 2:14-18

Before becoming a completely sold out believer it was to "Trust the Son." After that "Love." I have always wanted to be an instrument of God, often asking to be the arrow, or shield, of God. That was when I was younger, and I had not completely come to Christ yet. I had asked Him into my...

    We Are Spirit....

We do know God is Spirit. John 4:24 Yet we, as humans, have a physical body, that is flesh. Now, we are told to walk in the spirt, that is according to the desires of the spirit, and not to the desires of the flesh. By this we know that we must deny the flesh, hence we are not spirt alone...

    Sons of God

When it comes to the Word of God and His holy writ, I feel it prudent to understand what it says, no matter how obscure the scripture for man does not live on bread alone. Genesis speaks of the very beginnings of this world, and the history our God wants us to know. Thank His blessing of the...
