When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

Amazing how leaving out a word changes the meaning drastically isn't it Post?

A man asked me are Christians good people?

I fully agree for a fact Drop. Can you actually picture a world where everyone was a true Christian?

A man asked me are Christians good people?

Reasoning is the term I use, and of course the Bible has the answer, but if someone's mind is closed obviously they will not reason, so you are quite correct, time to kick the dust of your feet for sure.

A man asked me are Christians good people?

Following God's word is much more important than our own desires sir. Obedience is the key.

    "The rich man and Lazarus..."

It is a parable. In fact Jesus gave it, so therefore he was still alive and had yet to present his sacrifice, therefore Lazarus could not have been redeemed and in heaven yet. The parable is about an upcoming change among God's people, a new covenant, with the Kingdom being taken from the Jews...

A man asked me are Christians good people?

Read your comment to me, and then compare it to the passage Matt. Christians that have a form of Godly devotion, but prove false to it's power are not Christians at all. Both you and I would love to see those that call themselves Christians to actually be that, the difference here is that you...

    Happy Birthday Jesus

Interestingly you mentioned stars and astronomy, the Bible records a star being present which led some astrologers to Jesus, who do you think made that star visible to those Magi?

God's Personal Name & New World Translation

Likely the problem lies in the version of the Bible you choose as your primary, which altered God's name. You must not realize the importance of Jehovah's name perhaps not even realizing that calling upon His name is a requirement for salvation Rom 10:13. His name occurs in the oldest...

A man asked me are Christians good people?

That was exactly my point Ron, you refused to see the 4 passages I posted that showed men as being good. All the verses must harmonize together, as we both have agreed that the Bible does not contradict itself. Therefore since they seemingly do in this case, an alternate understanding is a fact...

Who would you want with you on a deserted Island?

I better understand your meaning now maam. Being a Christian was forewarned to as as not being easy. Perhaps these passages will help: (Acts 14:22) . . .“We must enter into the Kingdom of God through many tribulations.. . . (Matthew 10:38) And whoever does not accept his stake and follow after...

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

Savior: Repeatedly the Scriptures refer to God as Savior. At Isaiah 43:11 God even says: “Besides me there is no savior.” Since Jesus is also referred to as Savior, are God and Jesus the same? Not at all. Titus 1:3, 4 speaks of “God our Savior,” and then of both “God the Father and Christ Jesus...

The Mystery of Abraham's Works that do and don't Justify

Ok, I don't disagree with that either, but somehow you must not believe you are justified by works, what else is there to be justified on? In the first century there was an issue with this as well, and Jesus' own brother James addressed it. He pointed out basically that all those who have true...

    Born again

Hi Joe I would love to address your questions sir, I tried to reach out by starting a conversation but was unable to, perhaps you could try to start a conversation with me in the inbox.

A man asked me are Christians good people?

I agree Devin, but keep in mind if the Christian is practicing a serious sin (1 Cor 6:9,10) we can not be forgiving to them, rather we are obligated to: (Matthew 18:15-17) . . ., if your brother commits a sin, go and reveal his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have...

    "Facts On Tithing...

Being under a new covenant we Christians no longer tithe. We have been encouraged to: (2 Corinthians 9:6, 7) . . .But as to this, whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Let each one do just as he has resolved in his heart, not...

Most monumental moment in salvation history?

I doubt that many would disagree that of all the steps fulfilled toward salvation, the coming of the Messiah tops the list. I believe it will pale in comparison however, to the fulfillment of 1 Cor 15:24-28

Do you believe Spirit baptism replaces water baptism?

Obviously through your research you have come to believe that sir. But I wouldn't dismiss water baptism at least until the end of this system, as water baptism will remain the norm for Christians. Those who Jesus made a covenant with will however undergo the spiritual baptism as well.

What Christian does not do the law of Christ?

In all honesty Rob, all of us sir. We do our best, but none of us can do it perfectly.

A man asked me are Christians good people?

Then why do you feel they are Christians Devin? Does their fruits reveal to you otherwise?

A man asked me are Christians good people?

I would definitely say you are a glass half full type, I wish I had your attitude Matt, but unfortunately I see so many who claim to be Christian, that prove false to it's power. 2 Tim 3:5
