What is God's "Plan" For You?

Because you said: I'm sorry 1stCenturyLady. I really would have liked if we agreed on more things, but I can only agree with scripture.

What is God's "Plan" For You?

You will have to read all scripture to find each part of salvation. It isn't found in one verse. What you added at the end is not the the correct interpretation. We have all these now through the power of Grace. You'll have to discern for yourself what is our nature. Hint, it is invisible too.

What is God's "Plan" For You?

I agree and is what I already said.

What is God's "Plan" For You?

Hebrews 10:26-39 read in context is about born again Christians who WILLFULLY SIN. You are basing everything on one verse about those who do not willfully sin as what is normal for a Spirit filled Christian. To be a student of the Word you must read in context.

What is God's "Plan" For You?

Read 2 Peter 1:2-4. What is reborn is invisible, and cannot be seen. We are spirit, soul and body. The spirit and soul is where sin reigned, in our mind and heart/emotions. Those are reborn and become righteous. 1 Corinthians 2:9-16. 16 we have the mind of Christ. What is left is visible, but...

Were the Church Fathers Sent by God?

Barn/Alan, If I remember right, they do baptize in the three names, but I think how they explained the divinity of Jesus and why I didn't know He was still God, was my church taught that Jesus gave up His divinity to become a human man in order to die for us, and even after He rose from the...

GRACE ... is more than unmerited favor!

Yes. All of those chapter in the middle of the whole 8 chapter teaching of Law vs. Spirit had to do with before Christ about people before and after the law. (Abraham was before the law, and David was after the law. Imputed is not in 2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin...

Were the Church Fathers Sent by God?

Hi Barn, you said, What is the SDA denomination teaching on this subject? I know I didn't know that Jesus was God until about 20 years after I left SDA. What do you believe about whether Jesus is God or not? Or do you just believe He is the Son of God and leave it at that? As I recall, they...

Were the Church Fathers Sent by God?

No, just the opposite. The date when I received the revelation from God.

Were the Church Fathers Sent by God?

Well that is good to know. I know of another member here who talks like a Seventh-day Adventist, but is not. LOL You do talk like a JW. And I talk like a Word of Faith Pentecostal, but am not. Basically, I listen to God's voice, and believe what He tells me, and He has gifted me with many of the...

Were the Church Fathers Sent by God?

Which I already said it is not a proof text for the Trinity. "Denying" Jesus has nothing to do with believing He is God or not. JW's do not deny Jesus. You still believe that only through Jesus can you be saved. He is your Savior. He is the Son of God. Oneness Pentecostals is the other group...

What is God's "Plan" For You?

I see it plainly written in Paul's book to the Romans and have quoted from it, so cannot understand your lack of understanding of Paul's writings. Peter did say that there were some things that Paul wrote that were hard to understand by some, and I guess that is true for you. That is basically...

GRACE ... is more than unmerited favor!

Wikipedia quotes church father beliefs. But I haven't found many of the later church fathers to agree with scripture. And it seems to me that many of their followers are not Berean enough to see if what their favorite church father teaches is what the apostles taught, rather than only sounds...

Were the Church Fathers Sent by God?

Thanks for being open with your thoughts and opinions. It appears you are not easily swayed by what a denomination teaches over what the Bible actually says. That error is what I've seen a lot on these forums, and I'm sure you will notice it too. But my question for you is what if Athenasius is...

GRACE ... is more than unmerited favor!

What I objected to specifically was "as if." That to me is what is said by those who believe in just a covering, like the OT sacrifices, which you did mention. I agree. Correct: Old Testament, specifically before the law as to Abraham, and after the law as to David, Romans 4 and Romans 5...

Were the Church Fathers Sent by God?

Barnabas is also called an apostle in the New Testament, but as far as NT referring to anyone else an apostle, Paul and Barnabas were the last. Church Fathers after the death of John made many mistakes. Edit: Jesus is the one who appoints offices in the Church. He can speak to us today from the...

GRACE ... is more than unmerited favor!

You sound like you believe after being born again we still retain the sin nature of Adam. We don't. That is why you don't understand the difference between the OT imputed, and Jesus' real righteousness. The nature that Jesus gives us is real, not the old man of Adam's glossed over with Jesus'...

GRACE ... is more than unmerited favor!

That is correct. The problem about "imputed" is that it further promotes the misinterpretation of God's grace. It is not unmerited favor; God's grace is the divine power of God given to us to completely change our nature to the divine nature of Christ. 2 Peter 1:2-4. It is not Christ's...
