    Faith: True and False

So, according to you, eternal life isn't at stake in 1 Co 10, despite the fact that the very same sins he's dealing with there are said to be able to keep Christians out of the Kingdom of God (1 Co 6)? People can commit those sins, and eternal life isn't at stake?

    Faith: True and False

Sorry, I connect 1 Co 10 with 1 Co 6 and see that Paul is warning the Christians that they will be destroyed, despite having been saved, if they don't walk righteously.

    Faith: True and False

I set out to prove it, and succeeded.

    Faith: True and False

Does 1 Co 10 warn against committing sins--the very same sins he elsewhere says if you do them you will not inherit Gods Kingdom, and isn't that literally his warning in the passage? That you will be destroyed if you walk in those things?

    Faith: True and False

So, Christians can committed idolatry, immorality, etc--sins he warns against in 1 Co 10--and still inherit Gods Kingdom?

    Faith: True and False

Obviously, I know you didn't literally say that, I was showings your how silly your denial of the obvious teaching you were critiquing was--but if you want out of convo, you can just go, you don't have to find fault with me.

    Faith: True and False

Right... so, what happens if the already-saved people go ahead and do hose things?
  8. GracePeace

    Faith: True and False

Who said that? I sure didn't. But why were they saved from slavery (sin is slavery Jn 8) specifically by the blood of lambs, if it weren't prefiguring our salvation by the blood of the Lamb of God? Why does Paul say they were "baptized", and "ate communion" if he wasn't drawing the comparison...

    Faith: True and False

Also, what is the "correct" understanding of the passage we should be walking away with?

    Faith: True and False

So... all those times the Bible teaches the OT was intentionally a type and shadow of things to come, the Bible is wrong, because what came before were only types and shadows, not the fulfillment of those types and shadows? Lol

    Faith: True and False

What comparison was Paul not making that I am making--and what is the "correct" "takeaway" from this passage?

Eternal Life: A Harvest Reaped In Due Time by Doers of Good?

"Doing good" that counts as "sowing to the Spirit" means that "God works in you to will and to do", and you walk in that, doing those good works the Spirit is working in you to will and to do.

    Faith: True and False

Paul drew the comparison, not me. Sorry, I'm simple. I just believe what he writes.

    Faith: True and False

Proverbs 18 13If one gives an answer before he hears, it is his folly and shame. You must not have read before answering, because your "answer" is not about what I wrote.

Eternal Life: A Harvest Reaped In Due Time by Doers of Good?

So... I'm guilty of wrongdoing, and this guilt proves I'm misrepresenting/misunderstanding Scripture, because... you met some Christians somewhere with whom you disagreed? Interesting.

    Faith: True and False

No, actually, and when I cite Scripture, you try to tear it in pieces so it can fit your tradition. I'll post the passage here, and you'll do the same. 1 Corinthians 10 1For I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea; 2and...

SALVATION: BY GRACE OR BY WORKS? A FALSE DICHOTOMY

Nope, I've explained my view several times, and you're either intentionally misrepresenting me, or you're just incapable of understanding me.

SALVATION: BY GRACE OR BY WORKS? A FALSE DICHOTOMY

"Sowing to the Spirit" is explicitly defined as "doing good" in the passage. This has already been addressed--I have no right to dismiss passages of Scripture, so, again, I believe BOTH ideas, not one or the other. Right, yet not all "abide" (1 Jn 2:28), bc they're led away by idols (1 Jn...

    Faith: True and False

You're trying to correct Paul--Paul was the one who said that the salvation which the Jews experienced (by the blood of lambs) by the hand of God, but still fell under His wrath for sinning after having already been saved, was meant to teach us Christians about what can happen to us after we are...

SALVATION: BY GRACE OR BY WORKS? A FALSE DICHOTOMY

So, John, whose words I cited, and Paul, whose words I cited, are "under Law"? You can use all the "smear" tactics (eg, "LEGALISM!") you please, but none of those emotions are going to change Scriptures I quoted.
