    Sharings from Ecc

@Christophany I love how in 1 Corinthians 1:30 Paul describes how the Lord Jesus 'of God is made unto us wisdom'. This provides the antidote as it were to statements in Ecclesiastes.....

    God's Moves

In ref. to Katara Patton's article on how the Passover points forward to the work of Christ and how the Lord's Supper looks back to the Cross: it's so interesting that Luke 22 shows the remarkable transition from the passover to the institution of the Lord's Supper: a most solemn and joyful...

US on path to dystopian future of the great reset where you will own nothing and be unhappy

@dhh712 Great reference there to Romans 8.28. What a heartening chapter! :)

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@Michiah-Imla I think anyway it's hard to argue to an 18 year old - the age at which tattoos start to be done, so often - that tattoos should only be decorative, or secular in message. Many Christian young ppl get Bible verses tattooed and indeed use them to talk to other young ppl. All the...

    Divine Tenderness

@WalterandDebbie The Lord indeed preserves a witness for Himself. I love Malachi with its theme of the faithful, pilgrim remnant (3.16...)

    Spotting Heretics

@Michiah-Imla Yes, it's interesting that the chapter and verse divisions are not inspired. Psalm 119 does have Hebrew letters to designate the sections, although I don't know much about their history.

What if you lose your faith?

@Michiah-Imla While Bible notes can be helpful, yet care should be taken not to elevate the notes above the actual wording of Scripture itself.

Christ's Coming to Gather His Church is AFTER the Tribulation

@Marilyn C It can indeed be helpful in Scripture interpretation if we keep these distinctions in mind.

Do You Read But Not Study The Bible?

@L3astAm0ngManyB13ss3d Great verse there from John 14....

    Being 'Born Again'

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Corinthians 5.17). :)

    Trying to quit smoking

It reminds me of Jeremiah 20.9: "his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay." cc @LadyofFireandLace

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@Dropship This is great! The comment can also be turned around in the case of many young ppl. I think for young ppl at around 18 such is the general strong assumption that they are going to visit the tattoo parlor as they cross the threshold of adulthood, that some Christian young ppl assume it...

What are you listening to right now?

Some young ppl appreciate Christian hard rock, some of which has hard hitting, Biblical lyrics. It's an acquired taste, but some would say rewarding in terms of witness value among young ppl.

    Age for first ear piercings?

@Wynona Yes, girls often do have it done for the first time when they are pretty young. It can be good for a boy to do also, while the age at which boys first do it is a bit older, so often.

    Age for first ear piercings?

@Wynona FYI...any wisdom? (sorry the poll closed already...)

    Encouraging verses

@Marvelloustime There are some really great, quotable verses in the Minor Prophets, indeed.....

    Age for first ear piercings?

@mailmandan Yes at around that age so many adolescent young men expect to do it; if they really want to, they should just go ahead.

Why do so many stumble over imputed righteousness?

@Michiah-Imla For "is" read "should be"; but I can't imagine a true believer who has not in someway been humbled by the message of the Cross.
