    You gave two quotes. Stranger.

That is not the quote you gave in the opening post. Stranger

    When He Returns!

Well, straight you did not make it. You have denied the Spirit of Christ in a person, or the return of Jesus Christ, or both. I am not sure. Which is it? No, this is not the time of the Shepherd dividing the sheep from the goats. Where do you get that? Stranger

Upon THIS Rock I will build my Church

I can't argue with that. Of course He did. Stranger

Upon THIS Rock I will build my Church

No, I am not questioning God's motives. I am questioning the motives of the Roman Church to make Peter the rock upon which the Church is built. David may have been one to lead Israel, but he is not the one upon whom rests the promises of God to Israel. Promises which the Roman and many...

    I thought this was interesting...

If what I have to say requires quoting from another, then I give the reference for the quote. That is the honest thing to do. That is what is required. Since when do you quote and not give reference? Stranger

    I thought this was interesting...

Gee, a blog. That is really official. Means nothing. It does point to how you obtain your material for what you believe. Careless. You didn't even check up on the quote else you could have given it. You quote something yet don't know how to give someone the ability to check it...

Upon THIS Rock I will build my Church

Yes, Jesus is the Rock. Peter was definitely bolder than all the others in his faith. And after his denial the Lord received him and told him to feed his sheep. He still trusted Peter. And yes, Paul, was the apostle to the Church. Given a new revelation from God. Stranger

Upon THIS Rock I will build my Church

I am not question God's motives. I am questioning those who believe the Church is built upon Peter. And I am giving examples of why. Stranger

Upon THIS Rock I will build my Church

No, I have no problem with that. But even Moses could not but fail under such responsibility and therefore could not enter the promised land. If you are going to make a comparison between Moses, then it must be between Moses and Christ. Not Peter. (John 1:17) Stranger

Upon THIS Rock I will build my Church

Understand sister, I am not saying Jesus did not love Peter. And I am not saying that Peter's heart was not in the right place. He most definitely loved Jesus Christ. Otherwise he would not have wept bitterly as He did. And Jesus knew it. Even though John was there at the end, and...

Upon THIS Rock I will build my Church

The only one Person I would trust the Church to be built on is Jesus Christ. And I think there is always a danger in placing such authority on 'one' flawed man. If it is placed on several men, you have the checks there. And, do we not see this taking place in the book of Acts? Stranger

It is a simple request. You gave a quote. I need a reference to that quote. Why would you not be willing to give it? Stranger

Upon THIS Rock I will build my Church

Peter, James, and John were the inner core of the disciples. Only John was there at the foot of the cross. James became the leader of the Church at Jerusalem. Peter denied the Lord. Stranger

Upon THIS Rock I will build my Church

I have no problem with the Church being built upon the confession of Peter or upon the prophets and apostles. I do have a problem with it being built on one individual, Peter. Stranger

The strongest forsook Him? Denied him three times? Surely you haven't thought this through. Stranger

Upon THIS Rock I will build my Church

Upon THIS Rock I will build my Church

Why would Jesus build His Church upon Peter? Stranger

You have presented a quote on the forum. You need to give the proper credit. I would think there are rules against not doing that, and I know you like to follow the rules. Stranger

What's wrong? Are you afraid of giving the proper credit? You need to produce the origin of the quote, else some will think you are lying. Good practice also. Stranger
