Where do you get your Authority?

@MatthewG Put it this way: Is it accurate to say: Thus saith the Lord" or "Thus saith Matthew" ?

    Scripture.

    Once Saved, Always Saved?

@Michiah-Imla This is a great verse there; I do think Romans 8.38-39 is clear about the true believer's eternal security.

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@Michiah-Imla In order to get a Scripture across to ppl, sometimes it can be done in a low key way which radiates wholesomeness: tattoo hyphen awe dot blogspot dot com

    Is drinking sin?

@Michiah-Imla Maybe limit the quantities involved......... :)

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

From back: @Michiah-Imla Seems like all the young ppl with Bible verses tattooed with whom I have spoken have thought it was a good idea, anyway. They all seem to have received them as witness tools, as conversation-starters.

    Is drinking sin?

@Michiah-Imla There is something about the culture of some independent churches which makes some ppl want to read their own culture and preferences into Scripture.

    Is drinking sin?

@Taken Knives are found in kitchens, and in theory knives can hurt ppl, but banning knives in kitchens would make no sense. The question is, Not using them in a way that causes harm.

For those who think Christ is not God.

@Johann Important passage; the Lord Jesus truly is equal with God.

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@amadeus I appreciated the Bible verses quoted. Seen from another perspective, the desire to communicate a message from the Word of God seemed to motivate all the young ppl with Bible verses tattooed with whom I have spoken, anyway...

For those who think Christ is not God.

@marks Scriptural evidence for the Deity of Christ is overwhelming.

What comes first ? Faith or Regeneration

@Christophany One aspect would be the question of whether faith is a work of the flesh or of the Spirit? Galatians 5 comes to mind....

What comes first ? Faith or Regeneration

I do believe that testimony commends and honours Scripture, rather than Scripture supposedly needed the addition of the further authority of testimony. Psalm 119.89; Psalm 119.105; John 17.17.

    Once Saved, Always Saved?

At the very least he was backslidden; interesting to remember also that the event was before Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came to indwell His people permanently; so Peter at the time did not fully have the same resource as the believers did after Pentecost.

For those who think Christ is not God.

Well, John 1.14 tells us that the Word did indeed become flesh.

For those who think Christ is not God.

He is sinless; Joseph was not His father; Mary really was His mother; He is the Son of God. Protestants have historically said that the Lord Jesus was of Mary's substance, sin apart.

No. See Scriptures in post #363, above.

For those who think Christ is not God.

    He is God.
