You don't call something you can understand, "unknown." These were not stupid people, and they had a vocabulary extensive enough to have used a word that correctly described the situation. They called it "Unknown", not "another language they had not previously spoken."

The same thing happened to me, sitting in my car in the parking lot of a big meeting one night. I was sitting there crying, and angry that "tongues" was phony...….. when, all of a sudden!

Oh, Mary, please don't take that away from people. Some people absolutely LIVE to be comforted that they are not as bad as THEM. Many of us need to feel others are beneath us.... not as close to God as we are. It is the only way to justify our own sins.

Actually, "Yes", I do. If that never happened in my classes, I would have quit that work a long time ago. It is often in "complaints" that the heart truly speaks.
