How To Understand 1 Corinthians 14th Chapter

Some interesting reading on that sibylline subject. http://www.earlyjewishwritings.com/sibylline.html

How To Understand 1 Corinthians 14th Chapter

Here is an interesting dilemma: 15 different languages were being dealt with there in Acts 2 that day. Did each hearer hear , oh say, James... speaking in their language at the same time the foreigner next to them heard James speaking in HIS language? Or did they have to wait until someone...

As it was in the Days of Noah? Matthew and Luke Scriptures Coming to Pass!

But, you weren't stressing that. There was nothing wrong with the eating and drinking and marrying. Even Noah did those same things. (That is how we start legalistic pressures on other people.)

    God Can Use Anyone

We do have to be fair to Saul/Paul. He was not trying to live any other life except to honor God. He tried hard to live right. He just had the wrong target. As far as he understood the Scriptures, he was keeping all of them without deliberately sinning.

As it was in the Days of Noah? Matthew and Luke Scriptures Coming to Pass!

My gosh...………..!!!! They were just going along living their lives as everyone down through history has done since the Earth began... eating meals, and drinking beverages... and, worst of all, "getting married?" Don't you guys get caught doing those horrible things! Give us a break. THAT is...

    Scripture with Scripture

It doesn't work to cut my post in half and ignore the fact that I already answered that... before you even asked it.

    The Fulness of Grace

You were asked specific questions about WHERE you got certain information from, and you don't seem to know where you got it from.

    Does "LAW" matter?

I don't think anyone has read many (if any) of the list of 613 I posted. At least they are avoiding saying 'yes' or 'no' to obeying any of them. There is stuff on not flirting with family members... (not even 'skipping' with them)… not cheating people in business... not having sex with...

    Abortion ?

It would be nice if we were actually able to declare things with such positivity. But, we can't. We can't even find in Scripture that an airplane can fly.... but it does. We don't like to admit it, but in the case of MANY things, all we can do is say that we really don't know.... no matter how...

    The Fulness of Grace

    That is pretty weak.

    About Fasting

Well, it is not always that way. For instance, this video is beautiful to me, but even here, it will horrify some people, and create huge turmoil, while others will love it as I do. (You can even see the skepticism all over Peter Jenning's face and body language.)

    Musings on meditation

Meditating on current events: I found myself spending MUCH time meditating on this happening in Seattle. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2018/08/11/seattle-seatac-international-airport-airplane/964932002/

    Scripture with Scripture

One thing I have come to learn is that "praying" is far more a learning to listen, than the 'talking' we do toward God. If you now have the book Celebration of Discipline, there is an excellent chapter in there about prayer. (Page 33)

    Scripture with Scripture

Just as a point of interest, neither Jesus nor the disciples ever prayed "IF it is your will, God." (No, not even in that final prayer in the garden, that someone may be thinking of quoting, was that note of doubting what God's will is ever used.)

    Does "LAW" matter?

So, the original question that I opened this thread with still remains unanswered. Does Law matter? I gave a list of all 613, but I suspect no one has yet read them. Does the general consensus here mean that we, as non-Jews, are privileged to ignore 603 of those laws?
  17. Willie T

    Does "LAW" matter?

Well, I have to say THAT is certainly some interesting gleaning from Scriptures.

    Does "LAW" matter?

Is this the same Christ who said He did not come to abolish the Law? "Fulfilling" law does not end it. It ends "righteousness" being obtained through it.

    Does "LAW" matter?

Yeah, those are a tiny handful, but there are 613 "laws."
