John is giving his version of a genealogy at the beginning of his gospel. He traces Jesus back to the beginning. The whole book of John is about Jesus, why would the opening verses be about anything else? A plain reading of the text explains who Jesus is and his relationship with the Father.

John says no one has seen God. How can people meet with God, even have a meal with him but not see him ?

Okay Jesus is God The Son, he is the second person in the Trinity and is eternal and divine.

He likes worship yes, but why? Why does God want to be worshipped?

Why does God need to be God? Why does he want people to worship him?

I don't like to use Wikipedia but they actually have a good article on John 1.

I think the whole book of John is about Jesus. This is John's way of giving us a genealogy.. He goes all the way to the beginning.

Strange that the word would mean one thing in the first 2 verses and something else in verse 14. I don't know why John would try to confuse us like that. And I don't know what version you're quoting there but it's way off
