Secession should be considered and allowed

You need to be complicated for that admission. It seems the vast majority of people on here are deathly afraid of saying that. It is like they believe if they do not state that they emphatically know the total meaning of every word in the Bible, then they are somehow less than a Christian.

A-Z What rewards would you like to receive in Heaven?

Kinda makes a mockery of "Love your enemies" and "Father, forgive them", doesn't it? Don't sweat it. I doubt very many of us really believe in that, anyway. Vindictiveness is pretty much a part of all of us... we very emphatically want our "pay-backs."

The Possible Year of the Second Coming in 2027 AD, the 1290, 1260, 1335, and 2300 Days of Daniel

Why some people just won't believe the Bible when it says we are not going to know the time of His eventual return, I just can't understand.

Don't be left Behind on Rapture(Catching up) Day!!

The sad thing is that you may actually believe that stuff. ☺

    Calling all Law Keepers.

I didn't realize there was a question to answer. But, I keep the law very much the way St. Augustine said he did. I trust that I am trying to be in God's will, and I, therefore, simply live life as I want to, believing my desires will align with His will. I am not of the Calvinist view that my...

    Calling all Law Keepers.

Yes. I am far from "Liturgical", but I do think there is a lot to be said for "creeds" and "Statements of Faith" as long-ago settled by large teams of learned men down through the ages.

    Calling all Law Keepers.

All well and good...... as long as those people do not try to tell others they have to follow "the law" as it is seen by them.

    Calling all Law Keepers.

My concern, I guess, is the way so any people "understand" certain "laws" through what they swear is the interpretation of The Spirit. To wit: Mormons, JW's, and the Westboro Baptist Church...... to only name a few of the more obvious offenders.

    Calling all Law Keepers.

My ears perk up at the comment, "I have the law of God inside me." I have to ask, "Where did you get those "laws?" Too many times I hear people make some sort of claim that they came to them through the Spirit. I still hold that kind of delivery system can be dangerous. We would not have been...

    Calling all Law Keepers.

I am a "Grace Person." And I am often ridiculed for it. But, I firmly believe that we also need an objective system of belief and behavior to live by. And that can never come from just the "inside" of each individual. I think it is a very dangerous thing to ignore the fact that we are...

    A Common Error

This concept of getting focused too much on one particular, esoteric interpretation of a passage is the main reason I read a plethora of different books "about" the passages of the Bible, and don't even simply trust myself to "get it right" when reading only the Bible. Trust me, I have heard...

    A Common Error

I hold that many people read that verse (Romans 10:17) blindly... not really seeing what is being said. I submit that a warning lies within those words. It takes very little observation to see that many people, all over the world, have faith in things having nothing to do with the word of God...

    Called to Overcome....

I agree with you. That is why I stated pretty early-on in this conversation that I agree with some of their views, but cannot go along with others. (Even though, since I have now read a half dozen books on the movement), I have come to understand they actually aren't anywhere near the...

    Called to Overcome....

As was said to you earlier, you just hit upon one of the major objections of Dominionists..... Secular State Control. (I highlighted it in your post.) Many people are all for this in the name of "Socialism." But, how is Socialism enforced? At the barrel of a gun.

    Called to Overcome....

The movement is known by several names; Dominionism, Christian Reconstructionism, and Theonomy, three that I know of. But, it doesn't really sound like what you were involved with. Who knows? Their main thing seems to be that the government should not be involved in economics anywhere as much...

    Called to Overcome....

I've been doing a lot of reading about Reconstructionists. I like a lot of what they say... but find fault with a lot, too. Why did you leave?

    Does it work both ways?

If you were a Christian baker, would you bake a cake celebrating _____________ (Enter whatever you feel God would not like)? Or should you be taken to court for not wanting to violate what you believe in?

    Called to Overcome....

There is a denomination that truly believes this was God's command to Adam, and they actually live this way. No, I won't discuss it publically.
