@Ronald Nolette There is indeed a strong Jewish background to Matthew's Gospel. A lot of ppl confuse Tribulation events in Matthew 24 with the situation of the contemporary church.

I guess it shows how logic and theorizing can produce all sorts of different responses compared with those from a strong context of prayer and Scripture mediation and reading.

@GodsGrace What was later called the mass was added later by those who did not accept that the work of Christ was finished (John 19.30) and thus entirely satisfactory for the sinner's redemption. It made ppl think that they still needed the supposedly essential rites of the church, continually.
