    First step of everlasting life

Faith is definitely a large part of it sir, but do you think those Jesus was talking to at Mat 7:21 had faith? What did Jesus say they were lacking?

A key verse in Bible understanding is John 10:16

I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; those too I must bring in, and they will listen to my voice, and they will become one flock, one shepherd. What is clear about the verse is that there are two groups of sheep, under the one shepherd. We know that sheep are righteous ones, so...

The Holy Spirit In Our Lives

Hi Mungo, no doubt God's Holy Spirit is the most misunderstood teaching in the Bible. Contributing to this is the many ways it is used. Some are anointed by it, creation came through it, we are instructed by it, and every single living thing is animated by it. It is a very interesting part of...

    The Goodness of People

You definitely picked a good topic Matt, in reality everyone believes they are righteous Pro 21:2, yet Jesus shows that most are not, and in fact all of us are sinners, including his disciples. Doing good is good and all Christians do their utmost to live the faith, which means doing good not...

    Thorn in the flesh

I think you hit the nail on the head maam, humbleness is one of the big lessons we each learn from our thorns in the flesh. All of us have them, and satan uses them as well as he is aware of them as well. Another post we were discussing speaking about endurance really comes into play also. Let...

    First step of everlasting life

Actually sir, Jesus instituted a new covenant in which he made with his faithful 11 on the last day of his life as a human on earth. Later additions to the Bible clarified the who, what, and whys of this covenant. It was limited to, and numbered as 144k who would be redeemed from the earth...

    Endurance

Yes maam, no doubt, the biggest part of a Christians endurance. All of us have them, but Jehovah promises us this: (1 Corinthians 10:13) . . .God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but along with the temptation he will also make the way out so that you may...

What Was Jesus Actually Saying Here?

Great question maam. Jesus was pointing out basically that we don't need to accumulate large amounts of goods for survival. Pointing out the fact that where your treasures lie, your heart will as well. A popular worldly saying is that you cannot take it with you when you go, which is so true...

    God's ALL-Sufficient BLOOD!

I agree, many do not understand it, although it is very easy to understand when one knows God's simple law of sacrifice. We are told at Rom 5:12 that we lost our lives because of Adam's sin, and that 1 Cor 15:22 that all will be made alive because of Christ's sacrifice. But still another thing...

    Heart Problems

You got it Matt! Most of the time when the Bible speaks of the heart, it is really talking about your being mentally, your personality and actions. The heart is controlled by each of us sir, Jesus can deliver us from it if we have a problem, but of course with free will he can only do this if we...

Love, Good Deeds, Judging, Condemning and Pardoning (Forgiving)

Very hard to do Marc, but obviously it can be done. kinda goes along with forgiveness as well, if we forgive, God will as well. Mat 6:12

    Always focus on doing Good

Very good verse to explain that sir, I use that often myself.

    First step of everlasting life

Aah! Thanks for clarifying that sir, no sir I am not one of those, I fall into the category of the other sheep Jesus talked about at John 10:16 Paul wrote that to the heirs according to the promise verse 29. These ones have the heavenly calling to be Kings and Priests in the Kingdom of God.

    Endurance

We have discussed endurance for salvation, as Jesus said was necessary maam, but obviously we have to endure in something. What is it that we have to endure in maam, as we all endure life whether righteous or not, so there must be something Jesus was indicating to us that we have to endure in.

    Always focus on doing Good

Yes sir, one of my favorite parables.

    Is it only me?

Jesus did spend most of his life in Nazareth, as you correctly stated. Child was a poor choice by a translator of the Bible version you are using. Servant would have been the better choice in this instance. The original word and definition: pai'ß Pais (paheece); Word Origin: Greek, Noun...

    The word of God

Usually two thoughts come up into peoples mind when they hear those words, the Bible, or Jesus. Christians recognize the Bible as the Word of God, and also that Jesus was referred to as the Word, God's spokesman. People of course receive God's words through the Bible primarily for sure, but...

Let the Dead bury the Dead

Sometimes one just has to recognize that some people simply don't want it. so it is best to allow them to go their own way and use our talents on seeking out those rightly disposed for everlasting life/those ordained to eternal life Acts 13:48

    The Fig Tree

Be very glad to maam. This is our take on it, perhaps you will agree that was the lesson: Like the fig tree, the nation of Israel has a deceptive appearance. The people of this nation are in a covenant relationship with God, and they might outwardly appear to observe his Law. However, the...
