    Re Spirit baptism

Acts 8:35 - Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him. 36 Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?” 37 Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart...

Why does Christ say to keep the Commandments?

What is there to talk about? I already stated what it means to "keep" the commandments and none of us have flawlessly obeyed the commandments. I don't support lawlessness or justification by the law. It's not complicated.

Why does Christ say to keep the Commandments?

How can you say you obey unless you completely obey? We are to keep (guard, observe, watch over) the commandments for NT Christians. (1 John 2:3; 1 John 3:23)

Why does Christ say to keep the Commandments?

None of us have flawlessly obeyed the commandments and the Greek word for "keep" is "tereo" which means to guard, observe, watch over.

Paul: The Law is a Ministration of Death, 2 Cor. 3:7.

Hello Barney, Since the old covenant has been made obsolete, does this leave us with no moral direction? Absolutely not. God made obsolete the old covenant to legally put into place the new covenant. (2 Corinthians 3:6-9; Hebrews 8:6-13) The life of discipleship flows out of the new command, to...

    UAW will not talk today.

In 1970 you could buy a new corvette for $6,000. What's the base price now on a new corvette? $86,000?

Why was the FBI allowed to remain corrupt under Trump?

It runs all the way to China. That's as deep as it gets!

I would like to buy a new SUV, but the price tags are outrageous! They are around 30% overpriced.

Paul: The Law is a Ministration of Death, 2 Cor. 3:7.

Straw man argument. Galatians 3:24-26 does not teach antinomianism and neither do I. With that being said we are still not justified by the law but by faith in Jesus Christ. (Galatians 2:16) Salvation is not by grace plus law, faith plus works as SDA's basically teach. Romans 3:24 - being...

Why does Christ say to keep the Commandments?

Hobie said - "Christ continuously held up the Commandments as a central theme for eternal life." How many ways can one interpret that?

Theology is our thinking!! Not the Lord's!!

One may have good theology or bad theology, just as one may have a true religious belief or a false religious belief. Christianity is not simply just another religion but is about a relationship with Jesus Christ. John 17:3 - And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God...

Theology is our thinking!! Not the Lord's!!

James 1:26 - If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one's religion is useless. This man's religion is vain, empty, devoid of power, lacking in content, nonproductive, dead and of no eternal value. James 1:27 - Pure and...

The thief on the cross was born of water and of the Spirit — Rightly dividing the word of truth.

Actually, it's you who doesn't know at all what you are talking about and have a bias against salvation by grace through belief/faith in Jesus Christ alone (apart from works) for salvation. (John 1:12; 3:15,16,18; Acts 10:43; 13:39; 16:31; 26:18; Romans 3:24-28; 4:5-6; 5:1; 11:6; 1 Corinthians...

The thief on the cross was born of water and of the Spirit — Rightly dividing the word of truth.

A common argument used in an attempt to "get around" the thief on the cross being saved through faith "apart from water baptism" is, "the thief was not subject to water baptism because he died under the Old Testament mandate before Jesus died. So let's see, after the death, burial and...

    What is the Lords Day?

Prior to Moses, there was no command for sabbath keeping. Look at Deuteronomy 5:1-15 which gives the commandments to Israel. 2 The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb. 3 The Lord did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, those who are here today, all of us who are...

    What is the Lords Day?

2 Corinthians 3:6 - who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. 7 But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look...

    What is the Lords Day?

Sabbath keeping with all it's rules and regulations (under the old covenant of law) was part of a covenant with Israel (Exodus 16:23, 29; 31:12-18; 35:1-3; Leviticus 19:30; 23:2-3, 32; Numbers 15:32-36; 28:1-10; 29:39-40; I Chronicles. 23:30-31; II Chronicles 31:2-4; Isaiah 1:13; Amos 8:5...

    What is the Lords Day?

Now although God's rest on the seventh day (Genesis 2:3) did foreshadow a future sabbath law, there is no Biblical record of the sabbath being kept before the children of Israel left the land of Egypt. *Nowhere in scripture is there any hint that sabbath keeping was practiced from Adam to...
