    Prove the Trinity wrong challenge.

The living Jesus....not a dead creed.

    Prove the Trinity wrong challenge.

"You shall know them by their creeds" Where in the bible does it say to formulate a creed? And how do you know how much deviation from a certain creed is required for a person to be excommunicated or burned at the stake? I would think we have progressed a little beyond formulas.

    Prove the Trinity wrong challenge.

Here is a creed that is actually biblical...God is love! (also a consuming fire)

    Prove the Trinity wrong challenge.

Any attempt to try nailing down a mystery as deep as the nature of God in a simple formula that men can grasp...is flawed at the outset. You can't catch the wind in a box. So I am against the very idea of attempting this. We know that both Jesus and the Father are the Jehovah in the OT. We...

    Prove the Trinity wrong challenge.

Because this is a man -made doctrinal statement...it will have flaws. The idea that the Father and the Son are co-equal is disproved by the statement of Jesus that says... John 14:28 28"You heard me say, 'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I...

    ...in your opinion...that is. :)

    The Double-edged Sword

I am speaking to you as someone who offers biblical support for what is said. And you respond as someone whose opinion alone would claim to outweigh any scriptures provided. Maybe if you were clearer in your communication? I don't always get what you are talking about. A little bit of clarity...

    The Double-edged Sword

The sharpest swords are single edged actually. The Japanese Katana is among the sharpest ever...and it is single edged. I am suggesting that the 2 edges represent the dual aspect of the word of God. The sharpness is the effectiveness of the word.

    The Double-edged Sword

How much of what you think and do is informed by the word...vs...how much are you just doing from your own ideas and such? Paul does say that the things of the Spirit are foolishness to the natural mind, after all.

    The Double-edged Sword

The power of suggestion...hmmm. Do you ever read the bible?

    The Double-edged Sword

There is the natural life...and the spiritual life. Add the 2 together and that makes the Hebrew "Chayim"...or...lives. When Adam sinned....he lost his other life....the life in the Spirit. So he saw himself naked for the first time. He saw then as an animal sees...without the glory of the Lord...

    The Book of Remembrance.

Agreed! In the meantime we can encourage each other to press forward in the race of faith! :) Blessing to you!

    Against Gnosticism

This is not written that way in the Hebrew. If you want to get into the occult passages...it is the subject of another thread and really has nothing to do with the topic at hand.
  14. Episkopos

    The Double-edged Sword

The natural man walks on this earth like that's all there is. No connection to God. So then the spiritually dead still have one kind of life. But in the Hebrew, the human life is plural. You have maybe heard the Hebrew toast...L'Chayim"...this means to lives! (more than one life) An animal...

    The Double-edged Sword

Yes. We are regenerated because of the resurrection of Jesus through the operation of God. We have a new link up with God...and a vast potential for growth through the "Christ in us." Becoming a new creation is but the beginning of the long process of being saved entirely in our souls. It is...

    The Double-edged Sword

Doubting is ok....but what is the basis of your doubt? Doubtfulness for no reason is a lack of reasoning. Are you unable to reason or so you have a reason to doubt?

    The Book of Remembrance.

...and you must add to this....greatest and least in the kingdom. Faithfulness is also a continuance or steadfastness in doing what is right. Can a man look in the mirror...and then go off and forget who he is? Obviously, yes. Then these will not be as faithful as they who do remember who they...

    Against Gnosticism

I never claimed that martyrs The rest is too jumbled for me to respond. Where does it say that Samuel's spirit was summoned? Find the word "spirit" in the text. PS. The words "familiar spirit" are not in the text. They are a translation device.

    The Double-edged Sword

We are a soul, with a body and spirit. When we are quickened by the Spirit..our spirit comes to life. We now have access to God. He can speak to us in our spirits. The power of the flesh is dealt with at the cross....but there is one more operation that is necessary...that of our own selves...

    The Double-edged Sword

The spirit always goes back to God. We are a soul. For those who aren't sure of the difference...I have a thread called..."Against Gnosticism"
