Living in Sin or just roommates who love each other?

@Pearl I do think that there is a public as well as private aspect to marriage and as well as the Godward aspect, the public aspect does need to be recognized; in fact, having the public aspect recognized is really part of honoring God, I do believe, before shutting themselves in for the first...

A NEW TAKE ON THE AOD

@marks We learn in the NT for example that Lot was just, but as for Saul, I don't know of any Scripture clarification as to his true state before God at the end (though I can strongly guess...)

Jesus in his earthy ministry didn't know that Gentiles would become heirs.

@MatthewG I do strongly think God in Three Persons is very definitely present in the New Testament especially.

@Pearl Sometimes politicians remind me of toddlers in a play pen.... :)

    @Marvelloustime What a mighty chapter is Romans 8! :)

    Age for first ear piercings?

@Pearl Yes, well bodyart can be like that; each individual member will have very individual tastes, often; not unusually it's the sons and daughters that are around 18 or so who will want to get inked up first, but not necessarily so. Interesting how in the same family also some will be into...

    Just curious....

@Pearl Yes, they do! a while ago I decided to get rid of some of my books, but it's an acquired habit, hard to throw off; some are so absorbing. My wife even collaborated with my mother with a sort of family history picture book, several years ago.

    Secure Eternal Salvation

Following on from the theme of the obedience of faith, here is a rendition of Thomas Tallis's 'If ye love Me' (based on: "If ye love me, keep My commandments"):

    Just curious....

@Pearl Oh yes; in recent years there has arisen a sort of publishing industry in many localities, giving pictorial histories of a town or city.... If the place is already well known to the reader, such publications can be fascinating...

Why do so many Americans take and support recreational drugs these days?

@LouisWilliams Well, years ago when Spurgeon smoked, there were less medical means to alleviate pain, anyway...

    Age for first ear piercings?

@Pearl Yes, those peridot stones seem to hang effectively from the cavities in the pendants. Kind of, a pendant within a pendant, each of which 'live' according to their own little dynamics, I guess, within the surrounding ones; jewelry design can be very absorbing, can't it? Seems like your...

    Just curious....

@Pearl Old photos can be absorbing. I do like illustrated history books with old photos of the way things were then.

Don’t fool yourself into believing that one party or ideology represents Jesus more than another.

@FluffyYellowDuck I love the peace reference also in John 14.27... It's different from the world's idea of peace entirely...

A NEW TAKE ON THE AOD

@marks Probably a good term for Old Testament saints - or not, as the case may be - is justified. (Hebrews 11 examples, etc.) In Saul's case, I'm not sure there is strong evidence he was ever truly justified before God.

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

PS: @McFearless Although there might be a slight risk of some sort or other, a lot of Christians who do get faith based tattoos would likely think that it's quite manageable and well within the parameters of what is thoroughly worthwhile, as joyful pilgrims with a heavenly hope, who dearly want...
