    The Devil in both testaments

The Hebrews didn't know of a devil as we understand today. They knew of the Shatan which we today call Satan. The Shatan however was not seen as the evil one; he was seen as a prosecutor the same way we see a prosecutor in court. His role was to bring out the truth. The Shatan translated Satan...

Do You Read But Not Study The Bible?

The lens!...yes the lens. I have learned that unless the lens through which Jesus saw the scriptures.....unless we see those same scriptures through the same lens, one will inevitably end up on a deviation. But what does it mean to understand the scriptures through the lens Jesus did?

    Dragged out issue

Why do we tell God what he should be doing? ...do we assume he doesn't know? or do we assume he is forgetful and needs reminding?

How Do I Pray with Power?

The question that arises is, are you wanting power or meaningful communication with God?

"GOD WHY HAVE YOU ABANDONED ME"

I imagine the mystery of that arrangement will be clearer on the other side.

"GOD WHY HAVE YOU ABANDONED ME"

    What is impossible for God?

The ability to give liberally is contingent on receiving it without strings attached.....simply because it is a gift.

    What is impossible for God?

Forgiveness understood and embraced at a heart level will usher in a new birth, ie a change in direction and a longing for connection with the one who 'paid' such an immense price to change your mind from futile ways of thinking to, as Paul puts it, the glorious liberty of the sons of God.

    What is impossible for God?

He has given them eternal life with forgiveness but they don't want it. They have had the wool sufficiently pulled over their eyes where the forgiveness which is theirs is rejected. Ultimately they will suicide just as Judas did. Revelation 6:15-17 reads like this: Then the kings of the earth...

    Reparations for slavery

The term 'giving' in the context you are using it is nothing but a euphemism for a loan at interest.

Fun thread....Did you know......(finish the sentence)

Seeing we're talking about jokes, did you know I am never wrong? :)

    What is impossible for God?

Of course pardoning us without the death of Jesus is possible. It is not only possible but it is a fact. A&E didn't go looking for God when they sinned; they bolted and hid; God went looking for them. Surely that tells a story? When the paralytic was let down through the roof the first thing...

    What is impossible for God?

Death is a consequence.....the consequence of alienation from God. It is not an imposed penalty. Eg....a vehicle designed to run with oil in the engine eventually fails if oil is not used. It does not fail because the designers punish it. Failure is a consequence.

    What is impossible for God?

He did cancel the debt but men don't believe it. They insist on God requiring payment because they refuse to imagine that God is that generous. Why did Jesus die....because we killed him.....and what is even more astounding is that he allowed them to do it so that we can see the generosity and...

    What is impossible for God?

What is impossible for God? To force his will on the unwilling.

    Reparations for slavery

I'm saying JP that stock needs taken on the actions we initiate because they have ramifications way beyond what is immediately evident.....whether it's on a national or personal level. Regarding the question of what should be done re the reparation issue in your country; that's not my call. The...

    Reparations for slavery

Cause and effect have a reach long after the event. Those whites who disposed the indigenous in the Americas now have their children paying the price.....and the blame game continues. No doubt Adam and Eve had no idea of the suffering they would bring on their progeny after they thought the...
