Acts 2:38 has been abandoned by Christianity

Christ's finished work of redemption is sufficient and complete to save believers. (Romans 3:24-28) No supplements needed.

    What is wrong with Pride?

We should never boast in self and apart from Christ we can do nothing. (John 15:5)

    What is wrong with Pride?

Galatians 6:14 - But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. It's all about Christ and not about me.

If you found you were in the wrong faith, would you change?

Christianity is about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and not legalistic, religious bondage to a particular church. John 17:3 - And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

One Thing We Must Do to Be in Heaven

We love Him because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19) :)

Acts 2:38 has been abandoned by Christianity

Amen! In Acts 2:38, "for the remission of sins" does not refer back to both clauses, "you all repent" and "each one of you be baptized," but refers only to the first. Peter is saying "repent unto the remission of your sins," the same as in Acts 3:19. The clause "each one of you be baptized" is...

    Is baptismal regeneration…

Amen! Then those who gladly received his word (through repentance/believing) were (afterwards) baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. Acts 4:4 - However, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand. Acts...

One Thing We Must Do to Be in Heaven

Those who believe they live a sinless, without fault or defect, flawless, absolute perfect life 100% of the time (exactly as Jesus lived) are suffering from a terminal case of self righteousness. (1 John 1:8-10)

One Thing We Must Do to Be in Heaven

In regards to Matthew 5:20 - "unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven," this statement from Jesus would come as a shock to the multitude of people who had great admiration of the Pharisees and the...

    Born again…

Amen! The grace of God that brings salvation has "appeared to all men" (yet that does not mean that all men will accept God's gift of eternal life through faith). God's grace is unmerited and brings salvation through faith (Ephesians 2:8) and in Titus 2:11-12, the "grace of God" also teaches us...

If you found you were in the wrong faith, would you change?

We absolutely must be born again and moral self reformation is not a substitute for regeneration.

If you found you were in the wrong faith, would you change?

Yes. That's why I left a church that taught salvation by works and became a born again believer in Christ.

Two Resurrections; Life and Damnation = John 5;25-29, Matthew 23;14

A person's conduct, whether good or evil, reveals the condition of his heart. A good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. You shall know them by their fruits. (Matthew 7:17-20) Doing good flows from a heart that is saved and doing evil flows from a heart that is unsaved...

Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

    I don't oppose it because I don't interpret it in contradiction with Acts 3:19; 10:43-47; 11:17,18; 15:8,9; 16:31; 26:18.

Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

    I did not skip it. Don't skip Acts 3:19; 10:43-47; 11:17,18; 15:8,9; 16:31; 26:18.

Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

Acts 2:38 is not the only verse in the Bible and we must properly harmonize scripture with scripture (Acts 3:19; 10:43-47; 11:17,18; 15:8,9; 16:31; 26:18 etc..) before reaching our conclusion on doctrine.
  17. mailmandan

    Born again…

Faith in himself, his works and his church. He lacks faith in Christ alone for salvation.

Reconciling Romans 4:2 with James 2:24

It's painfully obvious that you are not going to accept the truth no matter how many times that I explain it to you and once again, I am tired of wasting my time beating a dead horse. Good day sir. Moving on...

    Born again…

    Just the opposite.
