Is our Bible of 66 Books, the inerrant Word of God?

What made the fragment a supposed piece of the 'Septuagint'? How do you know these oldest codices contain the Septuagint? And these manuscripts are only 4th and 5th century. Is there something or someone who says this is the Septuagint? The Septuagint, as the story goes, must exist before...

junobet There is nothing to indicate that these are from a so called 'Septuagint'. And these are only 4th and 5th century manuscripts. Are they not? What makes them a 'Septuagint'? What makes the Septuagint existent before Christ? Stranger

Pope prays with Protestants on Reformation day

Our differences are too great. You would either have to quit being Protestant or quit being Catholic. Of course the less the Bible is seen as inspired by God the easier it gets to conform to others beliefs or rituals. BYOW. Bring your own wine. Stranger

Is our Bible of 66 Books, the inerrant Word of God?

Well, if there is 'no Septuagint', it's hard for me to prove it's non-existence. It is based on a document, 'Letter of Aristas', that has been proven to be false. The Dead Sea Scrolls has lots of writings. Not all are Scripture. And, as far as I know, I don't believe any Greek versions...

Is our Bible of 66 Books, the inerrant Word of God?

No, I picked six verses, not one line. Tom55 gave me a 'one line' made up statement that he could use as an example of how many interpretations could be made of it. You say "what about the rest of the Bible"? Exactly. To compare a one line statement with the interpretation of Scripture...

Is our Bible of 66 Books, the inerrant Word of God?

If the Septuagint was in such wide circulation, why don't we have a copy of it? The 'idea' of a Septuagint is based only on the 'Letter of Aristas', which has been shown to be a fake. Even the LXX is a false representation. If it's based on 72 Jews, why isn't it LXXII? Everything about...

I am answering it by example. Yes, I know where Tom55 is headed and you also. So the statement has been made that since Scripture is interpreted so many ways, then how do you know who is right. Well, here, in my reply#97, is a portion of Scripture to put to the test. Interpret it...

Is our Bible of 66 Books, the inerrant Word of God?

Lets put it into practice. John 1:29-34 says, " The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me. And I knew him not...
