    Sanctification is an ongoing process

Romans 8 is a mighty tonic for the true believer; reading Romans 8, I can't believe the 'saved today, lost tomorrow' idea.

    Dispensational problems

1 Corinthians 10.32 seems to indicate the church, Israel and the Gentiles are distinct.

    Dispensational problems

@Eternally Grateful If ppl would accept that in Scripture Israel and the church are distinct, then a lot would fall into place as far as understanding God's scheme for the ages is concerned.

    Encouraging verses

@Cachalot Reminds me of Philippians with its theme of joy in the midst of suffering....

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

From back a bit @soul man Although some ppl do have it done because it's popular, all the young ppl with Bible verses tattooed with whom I have spoken seem to have had it done for evangelistic reasons, anyway...

    One New Life

PS: Prayer and the Scriptures do indeed make such a vital combination in the believer's life....

    One New Life

@soul man On this subject, the words of the Lord Jesus in John 16.33 come to mind: "In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer: I have overcome the world".

    A Fist Full of Doubt's

    Can the Soul Die?

@Cassandra The word to described what happened to Enoch is 'translated'....(Hebrews 11.5).

"I quite like males with earrings": a low-key, respectful discussion

@Truman The priority is to keep 'looking unto Jesus' (Hebrews 12.2), right?

"I quite like males with earrings": a low-key, respectful discussion

@Truman Well, some men who keep their hair shaved bald wear earrings.

    Can the Soul Die?

@Cassandra 1 Corinthians 15 is a glorious passage indeed; this is why it is so often read at the funerals of believers....

"I quite like males with earrings": a low-key, respectful discussion

@Truman Oh, sorry, I thought this was recently when you said: And of course, daughter-in-law, not daughter... :)

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Ziggy In the past 30 years it's become even more widespread to get tattooed. Today, it's almost something that ppl do when they make the transition to adulthood. Like, "I'm tattooed; I'm a woman, not just a girl, now"; "I'm tattooed; I'm a man, not just a boy, now". I've mentioned anyway...

"I quite like males with earrings": a low-key, respectful discussion

@Truman Do you think anyway that your daughter has internalized that you want to be able to put an earring in your ear piercing?
  18. F

    A Fist Full of Doubt's

@Ziggy Great verse there! :) Ties in with "the peace of God" (Philippians 4.7) and "the God of peace" (Hebrews 13.20).
