    The Light of life…

@Not me Again my mind goes back to Anne Steele: "O may these hallowed pages be My ever dear delight! And still new beauties may I see, And still increasing light!"

    Late Night Thread...

Hi @Addy Don't you think that the principle of revelation in Scripture is a little like a jigsaw puzzle...? in the sense that piece by piece, painstakingly read and meditated upon, the need to spend time and effort on building up the big picture is essential and it's only for the patient and...

    It Is Written!

@soul man Anne Steele's words come to mind from the 18th century: "O may these hallowed pages be My ever dear delight! And still new beauties may I see, And still increasing light! Divine Instructor, gracious Lord, Be Thou for ever near; Teach me to love Thy sacred Word, And view a Saviour...

    It Is Written!

@soul man You are so right about the need to keep immersed in God's Word. Prayer and the Scriptures daily are vital for the believer's walk, indeed. Christ and His work at the Cross are central in Scripture.

    Sola Scriptura 2

What you imply is that the word of man (religious official, scientist, etc.) is supposedly above the Word of God.

The Gospel not by the revelation of Jesus Christ but after the man of sin.

PS: Whether or not the symbol is worn or displayed, by far the most important aspect is receiving by faith the truth and doctrine associated with the Cross, inwardly and spiritually. 1 Corinthians 1.18: "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are...

    Different Measurements of Faith

@MatthewG Good preserve the simplicity of believers concentrating prayerfully on truth and doctrine from Scripture and on testimony, right?

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Heart2Soul While for the believer the main aspect might be its potential for faith based expression (Bible verses, etc.), there's really nothing new about it and what we have been seeing in recent decades is a gentle coming round full circle of what not a few 19th century women were finding the...

    "Please Report Heresy"

@Heart2Soul I do love Malachi: :) "Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name." (Malachi 3.16)

I can understand steering clear of politics altogether...

Can you be pro-choice and still be a Christian?

Sir, I really don't know what the point of such comments is. I am not arguing for abortion - on the contrary - but as @Wynona says in her OP sometimes a consistent view of things can take time to emerge among those who profess. I do find any idea of "Unless you vote for the political candidate...

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

Well, I guess the point is that some Christians who have it done in faith based designs might not necessarily experience a great deal of exhilaration from the inking procedure as the chosen design takes shape, but they might receive an ongoing quiet satisfaction that the faith expression - Bible...

Israel, the Church, and the Rapture

I do see the Rapture in Scripture, relating to the church.

Israel, the Church, and the Rapture

It clarifies in my view if one considers who the Rapture is for: 1 Corinthains 11.26 makes it clear it's the church in view, "Till He come".

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Truman the Levite :) Some ppl do seem to find it a joyful testimony experience, anyway... Acolyte said: ↑ Some Christians would thus say that in the end a joyful testimony experience is what it's all about.

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

Oh I agree that ppl can be misled for all sorts of reasons. I guess that when I have talked to a young woman or a young man who have painstakingly had all the working of John 3.16 tattooed, I can at least respect their very strong desire to testify.
