@Addy Eternal security in Christ is a very assuring thing. :) Romans 8.38-39. John's First Epistle is strong on the true believer's assurance.

@jessiblue In principle this is true by way of application, although the original context in Ezekiel was not the church; this is how I see it.

@jessiblue Israel is not the church. The church is not Israel or the Gentiles. (1 Corinthians 10.32). Traditionally, even among Bible believing Christians, dispensational believers see these distinctions, while those of a Reformed outlook tend to blur them.

@Addy Some very conservative ppl don't seem to be able to grasp that in fact - especially if, as you suggested, it's a Scripture tattoo that is contemplated - a rather joyful experience can be gotten in a tattoo parlor...right? :) (cc @Heart2Soul )

Hi @Addy The Lord Jesus did say: "Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures" (Matthew 22.29). It's certainly the case also that it matters a lot about the spirit and attitude with which one advances ideas, right?

@Ziggy Well, at our small, conservative local church it has seemed that the boys and young men get earrings too. Like you, maybe eventually some of them will let theirs close up, too. It's a phase that young ppl go through; sometimes it lasts a lifetime; sometimes not. What I think matters...
